Thought someone might like the idea. Probably even do it better...

Anyway, I had my pods mounted on my headache rack. Obviously, THAT won't work with the Bestop...

So, I made up these brackets real quick today. I might even Plastidip them at some point, but probably not.

I didn't use the bed rails because I wanted the lights as close to the rear as possible. The existing bolts at the top right there by the tailgate were perfect. It looks a little funny, but I had to set the lights back on the brackets so they wouldn't rub on the top.

As you can see, the lights get the job done in this location:

As long as your trailer is lower than your tailgate, of course.

Just ran the wires along the frame. I drilled holes on the composite bed sides to get the wires to the lights. Toggle switch in the cab.

I was just thinking of how to run lights with my Softopper today. Definitely going to have to look into this. Have any pics of the wire route?

Cool. Hope you can use this idea. The wires are just run along the frame from the front to the back. Then, I drilled a hole in the composite bed below the light pods to get the wires in. Then, they're operated by a toggle switch in the cab.

I haul lots of different things. I needed the big trailer for firewood though.

Today, I was hauling shopping carts! (The truck also grew a little this past weekend :D)

On my last couple of trips, I even needed my light pods:

Well done. Mine was a lot less clean and not made to remain in place all the time. Just wanted something to hold a 120V work light fire occasional use.
