Just ordered a front skid from RCI. They responded really quick to emails and even offered me a TW discount. If the front turns out nice I'll probably order a mid and rear one too.

I really like the dakars but thay may be overkill of you dont want the full 3 inches of hight in the back and dont plan on hauling much.

I got the black rock 909b's in a 17x8 with 0 offset and 4.5 backspacing.

A slew of pricey stuff my wife hates me for.
zonataco did mention camping. We just loaded the truck up first of the month for a week long trip, and I am more in love with the Dakars than ever before. But agreed, daily driving the ass end is a little stiff unweighted.

The tire is 265/70/R17. If you have a 16 inch rim the same time would be 265/75R16.

I have been looking into lifts for the past two months and I think I am gonna go with your lift choice with dakars after reading the build thread :D You mentioned it rides like stock but have you noticed any squeaking? I know some people might jump on me for that but it's important to me.

How did you feel about the off-road performance? I'm planning to mostly take 4x4 trails but their is the potential for more serious stuff occasionally.

Thinking about 265/70/17 for the tires in duratracs, authorities or michelin ltx. I have a 4x4 sport. I would expect a 1-2 mpg loss with the lift and duratracs.

I went offroading a couple weeks ago and then next day I noticed my leafs wre sqeeking. I did some research and found out the most likely cause was dirt got in between my leafs. I hosed the leafs really well and the squeeking went away. The offroad performance has been great. I plan on going back out in two weeks. I have some skids on the way and a new plate bumper. I like the authorities a lot but if you have the money get the duratracs.

I had 800 pounds of river rocks in the bed this weeked. The dakars didn't even flex. I was very impressed.

Picked up an air compressor that works with the bed plug.

Dude.. I have the same truck you have but mine is stock. I'm gonna check out your stuff to see what fits but how does all that stuff mess with your gas mileage. Love that rack on the back. When I go to websites to check out stuff for the 2014 not many people have stuff listed for that year model. It it the same as the 2013? My first post in this forum!!! My first truck ever!!!

The 2014 is the same as the 2012 and 2013. The only thing I have found not to work is the camera mount on the pop and lock tail gate handle. I drive mostly 80% city and my milage is 19 per my scan guage. Im adding 250 pounds of armor in a few minutes. That my hurt my milage.

    Congrats on the tacoma.

I'd love the report on that gas mileage.. Can you keep me posted. I'm ready to get my truck down and dirty... just got back from big bear and I need more dirt.

Armor issues. The RCI skid plate does not work with the All pro bumper. Just ordered an All pro skid overnighted it. I also cant get the skids on because of my diff drop. I was going to remove the diff drop but I dont have the stock bolts anymore. Time to call the autoshop that installed my lift and see if they have extra regular diff screws. I dont know if I will be ready for saturday offroading.

Ordered lights for the bumper cutouts. Tuff LEDs. Going to be super bright.
