Those two springs that are sitting off to the side in the 2nd picture? They sit in those recesses above that silver module that controls the plunger type switches. They rock back and forth to make contact between those cooper contacts and silver ones. Does that make sense? When I get back to the computer I can circle it for you.

And no dielectric grease. I only use that to seal out water from electrical components. No water will get to this switch assembly (hopefully)

Cool, thank you sir, the location escaped me but the springs luckily did not.
I was thinking that the dielectric grease might hold the small black spring that fits in the window lock button in place, it keeps falling out while I reassemble the window lock button.
Note: I found this photo online I have a 2 dr extra cab.

Your front end swap to 95-97 looks great, I want to do that to my 97 2wd 5lugger.

Did you TRD shift knob have threads in it?

I just got one off ebay and it fits, but I guess I didn't read the listing closely and it had no threads - I just shoved it in and it's in there. Pretty snug. But I'm slight annoyed it didn't bolt on.

Yes mine had the proper threads. Screwed right on.

    Much love, Brutha. Great trip.

And as if we needed any further proof that Sunfire Red Pearl is the color of the gods.

You did indeed. The second pic is the sun lighting up the meadow.

Well this was a super fun build to read through! Is anyone still here? Looks like the lights have been out since last July haha.

I lost all my photos from
Photobucket and have been too busy to update.

    Two updates:

new front bumper from a 97 thrown on with some Iggy Lights led pods mounted in it.

And a one-off Hurr Durr Fabrications transfer skid plate and crossmember.

Nice! I was afraid the response would be, "sold for a new 3rd gen Taco." Haha

    Well worse.

I bought a daily driver Prius and barely drive the Tacoma. Which is good. I want to keep the miles off the truck.

What did you use to dye the fabric? How's it been holding up?

The seats are from a Subaru Forester XT. No dye.

The rest of the interior dye has held up very well. Far better than I ever imagined.
