My current commo/nav setup.
Dual band HAM radio, tablet for navigation, phone for communication, UltraGauge for engine management and GENTEX mirror with compass and thermometer.
Tablet and phone can connect via bluetooth to HAM radio with APRSDROID software for real time tracking with GPS.
Cluttered, maybe, but I have used most of it in remote areas that other communications systems drop out.

Added some work lights to the back of my bed rack.


Re-did all of the wiring going to the bed to clean it up.


Now I have !@#hole behind me light, rear and side work lights.

Well, I think I found my sloppy steering problems.
Bushings in my steering rack were shot. And several of my upper control arm bushings were bad as well.
It feels so much better now.

 

Those stock steering bushings are such shit. Mine lasted 5k of hard wheeling.

 

Were any of those Urethane?

 

The UCA bushings were urethane, I believe there failure was due to improper grease and pressure.
The OEM rubber rack bushings pretty much disintegrated.

 

My UCA bushings were making a ton of noise all of a sudden so I lubed everything up and it seems fine now. Did you have any other signs they were bad?

 

Just the visual signs that the urethane was separating.

 

Interesting on the MAF sensor- how does the Volvo one work out and what if any wires did you have switch? I’m hoping to do that this spring, after I send the throttle body out to MaxBore for a tune up/rebuild. That is after the aux fuse panel and moose and fog light rewiring and the start of the 95 grill and headlight swap. Also wondering how the CS 144(?) alternator swap went.
So many mods, and then the domestic projects, I need a twin....

It was a pretty straight forward swap with the $17.00 harness adapter I got off ebay. (Alternator Conversion Lead Kit Delco CS130 CS121 to Denso Geo Toyota Oval Style)

So driving home last night one of my brake pads disintegrated.
I thought I had purchased everything I needed to do the Tundra upgrade, but I found out that the Stop Tech stainless lines I had are way to short.

So because my pad went out and caused this;


This happened:

And now my truck is down for a couple of weeks waiting on the correct lines.

I also installed longer wheel studs for more bight from my lug nuts.

 

Wait a sec. I don’t understand how a short break line cause the pad to fail. Please enlighten this newb.

 

One of my brake pads decided to give up the ghost and allowed the metal backing plate to come into contact with my Tacoma rotor.
I had previously ordered all of the necessary parts to install the Tundra big brake upgrade.
When I went to install the new stainless steel line, I discovered it was to short. So I went to NAPA and had them order me longer standard brake lines, which will be in tomorrow. Then I can replace them with the correct stainless lines at a later date.
Sorry for the confusion.

 

Oh my bad, i misunderstood the post. So the Tundra brake upgrade is next on my list. What rotors and calipers did you go with? Doesn't Wheeler's sell the correct break line for the upgrade?
