They seem to be a little bit softer than the Bilstein's and OME 880's I had on before. But they are turned up a little high on the pre-load.

Installed a Relentless Fabrication tailgate support and a Front Range folding table today.

Also picked up another pair of MaxTrax.

I love your truck, you have done some excellent work. What made you decide to switch from the camper shell to the rtt?

Why did you decide to get the tailgate support? Do you like it so far? I've been eyeing one as it makes me nervous every time I load and unload my motorcycle from the back.

I think the truck looks great on 31s. I have 265/75/16. I think 285s look awesome but performance-wise, I don't often find the limit of my tire size.

    Sweet build! Thanks for sharing.

It took most of the day and lot of skin off my knuckles. I can get some pictures if you would like. The flange to the catalytic converter did not match up so I had a new exhaust system put in.

I really liked my shell, but sleeping in it was not so comfy. I am not tall, but it was still cramped in there. looking back I wished I would have mounted the RTT to the shell and built a support system to carry the load.

Thank you, my reason for purchasing the expensive tailgate support was that my tailgate had seen better days and having a flat surface for food prep and cooking was a bonus. It was easy to install and so far I like it.
When my tires wear out I am going with 285-75R16's with steel wheels as a replacement. I may have to re-gear my axles to 4:88 later though.

Yeah some pictures would be cool if you get a chance.

I bought a set last year and have been sitting on them ever since. One of the reasons I’ve been putting it off is I have the ‘03 so I need a corrected Y-Pipe to match up to my 2 cat system. That part is discontinued and no where to be found so I’ll have to figure something out. Other reason is I’ve heard it’s just a straight up pain to install.

I installed an auxillary battery today. Used an Optima yellow top, Blue Sea automatic charging relay and breakers along with a starter disconnect.

holy moly what a build! One of a kind truck you got there sir. Question for ya, how much fabbing was required to put the 4runner driver seat into your truck? Ive heard contradicting things about how 3 of the 4 holes line up and then others say none of the holes line up.

Three of the four holes lined up, but the seatbelt didn't fit quite right.
I ended up finding a Tacoma drivers seat and swapped it out.

I will say this much though, the 4Runner seats are WAY more comfortable than the Tacoma buckets. I still have my old ones, may have to figure out a way to make the seatbelt work.

Picked up a set of F5's last week and a spare today from SCS.
Also picked up a set of Fox 2.0's to go with my rear shock relocation kit.

    I'm torn between the KM2's in 255/85R16 or 285/75R16.

Sweet! I've been reading a lot lately about the skinny 33's. Sounds like quite a few people really like them on Tacomas. Especially 1st gens. From what I've read, they create less rubbing and provide pretty great traction. Many people have even said they perform better then the wider tires do.

I have had three sets of them, one on a F350, one a lifted TJ and I had them on my old Hilux.
