Turbo setup still holding up and very reliable. I'm going to switch to my turbonetics after I have my smog check in fall. Motor is still plenty happy. 6k turbo miles. I need to dial the midrange light boost in better with my piggyback. I'm not easy on the truck either. If I get the vid from my buddy's phone, there is a clip of me trying to make it up a sand hill while I'm pinned to my rev limiter. These toyota motors are impressive.

Vid with some slow mo over my local testing grounds. My shock tuning expert friend recommend that I stiffen the rear compression because in blowing through all my travel. I might be able to fine tune the front later.

Took the besides off today and hit them with some dark emerald green duplicolor. Going to clear tomorrow. Not bad for $50 of paint. I'll do the rest of the truck if I like how my rear turned out. This is just the base coat.

Was just talking with @Lucario Runner yesterday. I have never seen any long travel setup Tacoma doing Rally Cross. Doesn't mean they aren't there, but just haven't seen any. Yours would be awesome to see on a course!

@Torspd A long travel truck would have a hard time in rally cross. Too heavy and slow. It would be pretty cool. You wouldn't need to be long travel. I think I stock truck with upgraded shocks would be faster than me.

There is some racing that is popular in my area called Bee-Hive classic. It is a stadium course that is 100% dirt with huge jumps. They have a division for your normal caged race truck could race it. Of course you'd be racing against $100k+ trucks but it would be exciting to make top 10. My 5 year goal is to race once in that just for the bragging right that I can race what I make.

Got the bedsides on after the clear today. I need to buff it out. The clear coat layed down a bit thin. Might try to weld in an exhaust cutout into my downpipe. I can be loud and responsive or quiet and laggy at the flick of a switch. Also put in a new black grille. The hood is getting some black paint. Still flirting with the idea of making my truck look a bit like Ken Blocks Raptor, but with my touch. I like the sharp lines in the paint. It looks fun because you can get a bit sloppy with the paint.

Not bad for the first time using a HVLP harbor freight gun. Lacquer lays down weird. Spraying the hood today. After that I need to order some more paint.

Kinda of a bad shot with the sun, but besides are painted and hood painted. I'd like to slowly do the rest of the truck soon.

Only doing the teaser pic of the exhaust cutout, but the exhaust can dump now right after the o2 sensor. Helps with spool a lot. I'll get a video one day. Doesn't sound great but doesn't sound bad. Had a bit of a diesel sound

Did an Ocotillo Wells run over the weekend on saturday evening. We got some rare rain and mud. 19 TW trucks strong. Good time.

Ebay turbo been going strong for over a year now. I must of got the pick of the litter or the company that sells them actually did inspect the turbo. Night run tonight only cooling off to 100F. Mini plans coming in the future. Going to try out 550cc injectors. New head gasket and ARP studs. Mount my BB turbo. Larger radiator. Aux knock sensor to make reading and logging knock easier. Try and convert my tuner to speed density to help it run smoother. Any day I'm going to get my emissions testing letter in the mail so when I stock out it is a good time to look over everything.

You've been looking at gps apps? So far I haven't found one I like myself. I have the lead nav for my iPhone. I don't like it very much for the $20 it cost

Yeah I downloaded California trail map last night and trying it on my phone today. I have orux maps as the map and CTM will layer on top of it. So hopefully I can learn it today. It works in offline mode.

So my last desert night run was not so good for the truck. It was 107 at night and I overheated about 4 times. I've decided to tackle the electrical mess under my dash from the last owner. Should of ripped that crap out from day one. Burnt wires and everything.

Under the hood I had a distribution block that uses a set screw to hold each wire. That does not work for off road. I'm converting the wires back to eyelets and doing a remote positive terminal. On the large gauge stuff I use black RTV to insulate the wire after soldering to provide strain relief on the cable. This terminal holds battery cable, alternator, main toyota fuse block, and aux to another fuse block for small things like HID lights.

The efans came out since I run them non stop with the turbo. I'm going back to stock fan. This weekend I'm making a mount for my 3 row radiator to adapt up to the stock core support. I should have enough cooling after this.
