    I tried everything I could, my crappy laptop would not work. I was so tired of pinging, over heating and having to search for premium fuel everywhere I went.
    So I sold the entire S/C kit, pulled the S/C this morning and I am currently finishing the belts so it will run again.

    Wow that sucks, I just can’t figure out how this all happened to you, or should I say your engine.
    I guess maybe you got the one bad engine out of a 1000 that just refused to run any other way than completely stock. Hopefully it runs correctly after all the stuff is taken off, Sorry

    Did you use the Volvo MAF sensor? Or did you add the 2001 MAF sensor?
    You said the MAF sensor is the same? Made by DESNO?
    The 2001 MAF sensor is a direct screw in fit into this housings ????

    The MAF sensor is the same they are exactly cross referenced. Look for a better price than that. Bought several and have never paid more than $30. If it is used just clean the sensor with QD electronics spray cleaner. Don't forget to repin. Very Easy.

    Ok, yes will get a used MAF tube and probably buy a new DESNO sensor.
    Can you shot me a photo of your wires color?
    I have a 1997 v6.
    Hopefully yours are the same color combo as mine
    Can I put the 2001 Toyota DESNO senior in the Volvo tube or will it show a
    lean code as the 2001 tube area is a bit larger?
    Maybe I have to use the Volvo sensor as it’s tuned to the tube air flow size??

    The Toyota and Volvo MAF are the same. The tube is just the right size. No worries. Just do it.

    Wires are easy to do there is a picture somewhere on this site.TTORA site has instructions on how to manipulate the connector.

    Well after a lot of research I see that the MAF mod works for some people but most people have the
    lean code that you keep getting and need to tune the ECU. The MAF tube for the 1999 forward is larger
    and the ECU will see the air as going through slower so the fuel mixture is going to be lean because of this.
    So you have to have the same size tube section that the ECU was designed for. The 1999 and up is larger thus you will get a lean code. I’m going to order the 2001 Volvo MAF tube that has no restrictions
    with a new DESNO MAF sensor this coming week and will keep you posted

    Hope you guys got a good deal. I just picked up a couple for under $15. MAF that came with the tubes worked great. Has Volvo printed on it but it works. I will try to take a picture of the plug so you can see the wire orientation.
