Did my mag light mod the night I came back from vacation and found the mag light holders.

    Have a 3D LED and a 4D LED.

Not sure which one I should carry.. I don't think the 4 cell has any HUGE advantage over the 3D other than a bit more battery life and the extra weight to hit some jack ass with (if I ever needed it).

What do you have in your mod?

I went with the 3D as its the largest light that fits under the center console lid.

I like the look of it under the center console a lot, now I wish I had a 3D instead of my 4D :(

I like this idea. How did you attach the mounts? Glue, velcro, screws, etc.
    Thanks.

How stable/secure is the one under the console lid? I have the mounts in the garage but have yet to install them anywhere.

Definitely liking the console lid 3D idea. Care to post a how-to or more details on the install? Thanks in advance!

How to install a 3D MagLight into the console lid of a 2nd Gen:

Buy appropriate mag light holder online ($8 to your door)
Remove console lid bottom (4x philips head screws)
Place mounts on light where you like and then test-fit on the lid.
Once you have it all lined up mark and drill holes.
    Mount the holders
Cut off the bottom of the mounting screws (must be no more then 1/4" left)
    Reassemble console.

The light's weight overpowers the springs and closes the lid, but honestly I like it better that way. When you remove the light the console will stay open until you pop it back in again

the only problem is when you open your console and get something out it will not stay open like it will before you mount it. I have one mounted on my console lid and I wish I wouldn't have mounted it there because it will not stay open...you have to hold it open with one hand while you dig for something with the other.

Just letting you guys know before you do something you wish you wouldn't have like me.
