I don't know if you can still get one, but I have one of these (LED Lenser Automotive Torch). I picked it up at the Leatherman company store in Portland, when I was there for work. They stay in the cigarette lighter and recharge from there.

C and D Maglites are actually great hosts to mod for leds. They have the mass to accomodate equally massive output and the heat produced while also having space to use several lithium rechargeables for long run times. Probably the most modded brand of any flashligt maker both from need and from flexibility. Even the Solitaire Which I have riding in my Salex organizer.

You can still get them from ebay or Fastech.

I just slide mine between the console and the drivers seat (under), with the headlamp facing forward. Works great for me. Am typically first on the construction site, and lights the way to get the temp lights on.... and would serve nicely for a defensive weapon should a 'vagrant' be lurking about.

    Years ago, I had a 6 x D Cell. That was a beast.

Zebralight headlamp for me. Spot, not flood. 1100+ lumens. Light. Comfortable. Still looking for a good place in the cab to put the Xtar battery charger. Glove compartment seems best so far. I retired my Black Diamond. Pardon the pun, but, compared to the Zebralight, they don't hold a candle...

I have one of these, but the 2000 lumen version. Currently mounted on my AR-15. Great light, very bright.

Folks use 2/3 c-cell maglite tubes for silencers....threaded on both ends.

Looks like broom holders riveted to the plastic.

Found this little accessory @ Rural King. Fits nicely in the door bin, 3C, LED, 10 bucks. Got some heft to it too, for multi-purpose use... :smash:
