I am thinking about a hardtop roof top tent and need info. I will be driving a thousand highway miles each way to reach national parks in CO, UT, and WY and like the idea of an aerodynamic top rather than a soft tent. Anyway, does anyone have any experience with Maggiolina or Baroud tops?

I have an hardshell tent, not Maggiolina or Baroud, but similar design and and super aerodynamic. Its quick and easy to set up and in my opinion is very similar to a ski box!

I looked at you build page. Those Roost tents are really nice and I would be considering one but I need something for 3 people (me, wife, son). That's why I am leaning towards the full box style instead on one end popup.

BTW, nice setup you have. Love it.

It could do 3 if you were okay to snuggle, way more room if there were only two!
Thanks for that, I'm already looking to switch it up and go with an bed rack as I don't use the topper to its full potential.

I have been looking into them as well, if I were to pick from the two I would go James Baroud because of its added features like built in led light and solar fan. I have been talking to owners of both tents and after getting their feedbacks I will go another route. although fiberglass shells are great, theres a chance it will get damaged and would eventually need repair and repaint. I will save up for an alu-cab expedition tent
