Just installed one, Sounds good so far fits perfect in the drivers side rear storage bin. They changed the bin my 09 was bigger 2011 is smaller had to do a little cutting for the wires to clear.

Has anyone installed this with a factory HU? How did it turn out and what all did you need?

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Cut a hole in the center of my bench seat back cushion (between driver and passenger) put expanded metal mesh over it then cover with my seat cover. Could be awesome!

I used a RCA line out converter connected to the factory HU.

Frostbyte, it does include both the powered amp and sub in this tiny package.

Yes. Look up my sub box build thread and follow all the same steps, except use this sub box instead of the one I built from scratch.

Sub'd... If I ever upgrade my stereo in my Taco, this would be a good choice for a sub IMHO. I need the room behind the seat, so this would go under the seat...

I am pretty sure it is not going to be "magic" there is only as much as you can push from 8" shallow sub with internal amp, HOWEVER I am pretty sure that it will be massive improvement over the stock system with non existent sub...

(Former Tacoma owner) 17" Mustang wheels, Eclipse AVN 5435, Deck plate mod, vertical Maglite mount, K&N high-flow air filter, Delta gullwing box, amp, sub, 30 percent tint, floor lighting, tilt activated glove box lighting, lighting behind seat, engine bay lighting, SR5 grill surround, power windows, outside temp display
I have an 8" myself, although different brand. Got it mounted to the back of the seat in my regular cab. It has decent kick to it for the size and wattage. It vibrates the rear view mirror and the door panels a bit. It also makes for a good back massage.

Anyway, I think they are a great option if

You don't want to drop a bunch of $ (got mine for just under $150 bucks)
You have a regular cab/no extra space or just too lazy to buy/build a custom box
You don't need a window shaker system

im curious also if this would be worth buying and hooking up to the stock jbl 6 disk... does the head unit play a big part of sound clarity and power?

I wonder if i could take my sick sounding factory sub out of my 09 access cab and replace it with this one? Has anyone tried that?
