I was admiring your truck and found myself on your build page. Nice job! Looks like you've done most of the projects yourself. I really am having a hard time not buying another Prerunner and setting it up in a "Baja" style after seeing builds like yours and others. Keep up the great work and thanks for the inspiration!

    They are spec-d

I wanted projectors to stop the glare.

Will post dark pics asap. I have connected everything to the parking lights (halo, strip and leds).

Anyone know the cheapest vendor to buy a bestop from? Also what's everyone's feedback on them and should I just save for a hard shell?

Right?! What a good looking pic!

There's a guy out of PA that sells Bestops the cheapest that I have seen them - a lot of guys on here have bought from him. His thread is here:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/fs-bestop-supertop-tacoma-5-and-6-beds.318376/

As far as saving for a hard shell, those are two totally different rigs. A soft top is going to be able to folded down / removed a lot easier. Soft top is much lighter. However, hard shell is more secure, although it could be argued that you could still break the glass. Altogether, it just depends on what you're looking for. Personally, I'm about to make the decision between soft top and hard tonneau. For me, a camper shell doesn't make sense - I'm non-committal, and want the ability to utilize my bed whenever I want wherever I want without having to take off a shell and store it first. But just my two cents!

I agree. IMO, the flexibility of the soft top outweighs the weight and permanence of the hard top. I would like the hard top for security (and would probably add a metal grating behind the glass) for security, but it's nearly impossible to remove with one person unless you have a hoist. Then you have to figure out storage. For me, I'm going for the soft top.

Yeah man - that link has the best price I have found, but let me know if you find cheaper.

In the midst of trying to convince my wife that soft tops aren't 'fugly', as she says haha. I think they're functional and don't care, but happy wife happy life!

Thanks guys, went from my '13 pre runner to this and my cousin is a photographer haha. Anywho, I'll definitely check out the link.. And id agree, I still will use my truck bed as a ... Truck bed, so the sod topper/bestop will probably be the best for me.

@ragincajun35 Yessssss finally someone with the old-school "TOYOTA" on the rear in black on an MGM. Now that I have seen the concept, ordering mine today. Where'd you order yours through?

Hey guys - who has Wet Okoles?! Let me see some color combos that you guys found matched well to the MGM... I feel like we're really limited on what we can do. i.e. Just charcoal and light grey.

    Prove me wrong!
