I've been reading about S/C's and REALLY want to get one, I see some people love them but when I ask other shops about them they say stay away and that they have problems...
I've heard the good... but who's had BAD experiences??
I'm looking at the complete Magnuson kit, but am also open to other suggestions based on experiences

    Thanks for any help
and I hope this hasn't been done to death and I just haven't looked hard enough

It's the same as the Trd supercharger and lots of people running them including me

Some people have had issues with the BullyDog tuner and the tuning files - I did not (6 M/T, stock pulley). The consensus seems to be to just have the TRD flash done by a willing dealer and skip the BD tuner.

I think many of the issues can be attributed to other mods - smaller pulleys, CAIs, exhausts stretching the tuning file (and the engine) outside of the design parameters.

If you tow heavy loads the S/C is totally worth it.

    ^^ oops^^
Yes, the main reason I want it is to help with power when towing... I work in a dealership (not toyota unfortunately) and know a lot of the ins and outs also have a connection at the Toyota dealership so I'm sure the TRD flash wont be a problem...
Looks like a lot of people recommend the TRD exhaust as well so I am considering it, but wouldn't use any cheap crap... Learned my lesson for that a long time ago build my 240

I see you have a 6M/T as well - be aware that you will be at the limit of what the stock clutch can handle and may be living on borrowed time. Any other moar-power mods will push it over the edge. Mine hasn't started slipping yet but when it does I'll probably spring for the URD Stage 2 with heavy flywheel.

If you supercharge don't get the Trd exhaust get the Urd 3inch exhaust

Gen 5 M90 superchargers which is what these TRD and Magnuson blowers are, are very reliable, efficient, and provide a nice bump in power over stock. I run a lot of mods on mine and have had no issues with mine as of yet. Approaching 30K on the blower and all I've had to do is change belts a few times, but that would be chalked up to routine maintenance.
