Magnuson Supercharger install and modifications

The pulleys supplied by Magnuson are 5.5" for the crank and a whoppingly huge 3.5" for the SC. Drive ratio is about 1 - 1.57. My bet right now.... this thing is not turning fast enough to create nearly enough boost to have any fun. We'll all be pulley swap'n shortly, and Magnuson won't have to warranty anything.

 

Magnuson has applied a small dab of gray paint/sealant on the stock 90mm pulley and mounting boss. Remove pulley, break the seal, NO WARRANTY FOR YOU!

 

Smaller pulleys are readily available right from Magnuson. They have 7 steps below the stock 90mm, all the way down to 66mm. If my math is correct, it looks as though 72mm will be the smallest that will fit the snout without machining... unless the the smallest pulley has a thinner wall machined?.... We still need to find stock boost levels, then we can determine how much smaller the fuel system will handle... of course with fuel upgrades and tune, who knows?

so basically, we would need to beg ovtune to conjure up some of that ovt goodness for this kit. after hes done with his twin turbo project of course .

Anyone is welcome to use vF Tuner and make their own tune. We are not considering making a tune for this SC at this time.

 

I've got my boost gauge and wideband ready and waiting for the SC to show up!

I was hoping to get the new AFE downpipes installed at the same time and just weld the O2 bung in there but I haven't gotten a shipping update yet

 

One way or another, we are going to make these things fly!

 

Hell yes! I'm not expecting the same performance as my former SC Tundra, but there has to be some more performance on the table!

No. He means ground up tune.

 

No, you have to make your own from scratch. magnuson locked their tune

 

Magnuson's tune is locked so you'd need to start somewhere else.

 

All vF Tuner Pro users have the ability to lock their files and lock the ECU from being accessed.

 

Im sure you wont tell us, but what is the method of locking? Perhaps with a little insider info the tune could be unlocked (though that would be bad for people who want to sell their tunes)

I read that.. I wouldn’t expect him to give any info on how to defeat his software protections..
