What about people buying them for "Off-road Use Only"?

It doesnt matter where you ship it. if it ends up in cali on a cali registered truck then fines galore for everyone. its a huge money making scam for cali. it does not help the environment,

 

A consideration for the current CARB dilemma is that they likely do not want to do anything that could jeopardize the ongoing certification process. So them knowingly shipping to anyone in California or any other CARB state is incredibly unlikely until after the process is complete and they have the number in hand.

 

Best solution is not to live in CA. Tons of people leaving the state everyday for greener pastures.....

This thread has turned into a piss match for how awesome California is. We have big ass mountains, deserts for days, beaches with babes, and 99.99% of the population aren't inbreds like all these people East of Arizona.

Step 1 of the smog test is a visual inspection and without an EO number associated with the obvious supercharger you will most likely fail.

 

Probably not, but once you hit the 8 (?) year mark you have to start getting smogged and the first thing they do is pop the hood and look around. Obviously you can't hide a supercharger so without the appropriate carb cert attached to it's serial number you'll fail instantly.

I go through this every 2 years with my supercharged 04

 

California is awesome and really large with a wide range of rules at different locations/Counties. I own a home in a non-smog county in California. Smog checks only required at time of ownership change, not every 2 years.

 

Yeah this is true, not every county in CA requires smog...or at least not as strict a smog check as LA County.
