Magnuson Supercharger Mega Thread for 16+ Tacoma - Unboxing, Install DIY, Dyno Video

Anyone running a catch can or is there one with the Magnuson kit? I was going to install my JLT before the SC but now I can’t make heads or tails of where it would be placed now.

 

JLT works with modification to the mount.

^^^ This - I have the JLT on my NA truck now and will mod as shown when the SC goes on. Looks pretty simple.

 

Here is a quick video I made. I’ve been working on making a sound pipe to make the supercharger louder in the cabin. This is my 3rd version. I’ll post more photos about it later on if people are interested, but I still have testing to do on it. It’s basically just a stock Ford Mustang sound tube that’s been cut up to fit the taco.

Please keep in mind I’m driving a manual with my camera in one hand. Smooth shifts aren’t a priority when you have zero hands on the wheel for a split second lol.

Nice! ??? for you....when you did the NA to FI change did you go to a spark plug different that oem ?

 

I need the booster gauge specs and how to!

 

I’m still using the stock ones. I checked mine before install. They looked brand new so I reinstalled them. I have some replacement stock ones to swap in at 50k or so just to be safe.

it’s just a auto meter cobalt boost gauge. Pretty straight forward install but time consuming. There are plenty of equally good gauges out there for much cheaper. I just use these cobalt ones on all of my cars. They look really nice.

 

no rtv use mentioned in instructions for lid install and none included with items shipped. ??? Did they change something along the way?

 

I looked at your version of the instructions. They changed the design since my model. You have a gasket on the top cover instead of rtv like the earlier kits.

 

thanks for looking into this - I wonder what else they have changed in the few months the kits have been out? All-in-all I am very impressed with the detail and quallity of the entire kit and thorough installation instructions.

 

Damn. I wish ours came with a gasket. My RTV job was ugly AF and probably not that good.

 

So did you also by chance have to use RTV to make the seal between the top side of the lower manifold and the underside of the upper manifold case? Looks like the instructions are now revision F and your's were revision E. Just curious.

 

The older kits had a gasket on the top side of the lower manifold. Only the lid needed RTV.

Thank you. I am running ICON 58735 up front with SPC’s and OME Dakar Springs in the rear with ICON 57805’s. I am running KO2 315 70/17 (changing today) KM3 315 70/17.
