For those of you with the charger already would a light bar in the lower air vent be in the way for the install of the charger?

 

Which air vent? Above the license plate like this?

 

The vent above the plate might require a relocation of the charger coolant pump. Its mounted on the driverside edge of the pump. I still have to relocate my air horns. The new charger radiator was in the way.

 

I just got them on Amazon.
Also I can confirm that is not true on a 2018 Tacoma. I have started the truck with a taillight missing.

any news on shipping or are you still in the CARB waiting cycle?

 

@GoldenBrew still waiting on CARB, I keep getting told it’s any day now for the past few months lol but either way I can’t wait for it to be here for me to install

 

Carb EO should be any day now. Mines a 2017 dosnt need smog for 3 more years. New vehicles dont need smog for 6 years. Get your orders in now is my suggestion. Once they get Carb it will be very hard to get. The install manual is definitely geared towards a dealer install. Just the way a dealer needs it. My guess these kits will be installed at the dealer level with warranty. As a previous dealer tech I can totally see Toyota charging $10k and adding it to the window sticker. You’ll be competing with them for the kits. Easy decision for them and Im certain theyll go that route.

 

I got my order in last year so I have a spot held just waiting for carb since they won’t ship to Cali without it

probably time to call the Magnuson Sales number and ask them directly about shipping restraints to your specific location. Depending on their answer you may them want to discuss with them your purchase from one of their dealers .... see what path it takes you. No better way to know than straight from the "horses mouth." GL.

 

I want one so bad but running premium fuel is holding me back. I emailed magnuson and unfortunately no tune for regular gas.

 

Unfortunately there will never be a tune for FI and regular gas for this truck. The compression ratio is way too high for that.

 

Yep you can even get a lot of pre detonation by advancing intake timing and not running premium.

 

Ordered roadmaster active suspension to help with wheel hop and axle wrap that could happen with the charger

 

I got a Carven cat back exhaust on order. Do you guys think there will be any issues? My concern is with the increase flow that i might be running leaner. Should I email Magnuson for a revised tune? Thanks

 

No. A cat back exhaust will make next to no difference in flow or tune. You'll be good!

 

I’ve seen some videos and stuff.. but for those that have installed and had it in for a while would you buy it again? Anyone go from vftune to the SC and have any opinions on it?

I’m also guessing no one has tried a smaller pulley yet?
