    Not directly, no.

The fueling, ignition, VVTi, and other tables generally reference RPM & Load as their axes. There is the possibility of overlap, but part throttle cruise on the freeway at a low load (under vacuum) would not necessarily directly correlate to the gains observed at the same RPM at a higher load (under boost) as the engine would be operating at different areas of the given map(s).

The difference in part throttle performance and WOT performance starts to diminish as you get into situations where you would be boosting at part throttle - Such as up steep inclines, towing, or encountering a stout headwind. Conditions like this will put the engine in a loaded state that will be much more comparable to a WOT pull on a dyno, though the total output would be lower, of course, due to the throttle angle difference.

Quick question. So since I bought this kit second hand, Magnuson will not issue me a CARB Sticker( so may fail visual during smog check?) My truck passed smog this year with a custom tune but no blower yet. Most likely will require a custom tune and dyno after install. Any CA owners here mind sharing if they passed smog?

YotaWerx supercharger customers have passed in CA but with the laws changing it may be only a matter of time until that changes.

I'm having a misfire issue going on with my truck. Went out Wednesday and on my way home going up a hill in 4th gear 70ish mph check engine light came on flashing had to pull over engine was shaking. Restarted and was able to continue on my way home. Scanned and got p0300 for random misfire, p0300278 (emissions) signal rate of change above threshold, p030085 (over temperature) signal above allowable range. With a scan tool hooked up and viewing the live data I'm seeing misfires happen with all cylinders randomly when driving. Within 1/2 miles from my house it will show. I can even just be revving it parked and it will also do it. Truck never showed any signs the last 6 months, and for whatever reason it was bad enough to get the light to flash and come on the other day.

I've had the s/c installed since oct 29th of last year. Truck only has 1900 miles s/c has been on for 1300 of those miles. Is is possible that the tune from Magnuson has an issue?? I'm planning to call them Monday and see if they have an ideas. I've also been wanting to get the OTT done but have just been putting it off.

I have pulled plugs and swapped some around no difference. Here's what one of them looks like. IMG_0956.jpg

I test engines (not Toyota) and almost always the cause of misfires is related to fueling or air, especially if the tune has worked in the past. There's a chance it could be a leak too. No harm in calling Magnuson but I would also check for leaks or any issues with the fueling system.

Does anyone know for sure the size of the inlet on the supercharger after the throttle body? Is it matched to the 70mm TB or bigger?

I figured out it was the Magnuson tune. In the tune it had the wrong tire size and rear gear ratio for me (previous owner I guess?). I asked Magnuson for an updated tune and it has been fine ever since. Still going to get OTT though!

Can anyone draw an honest first hand comparison between a Yotawerx tuned SC 3G and a 4G - hybrid or non hybrid? Trying to decide on some long term goals for my ‘20 and what provides the most value, fun, performance, and reliability…

Ask again when you have to replace one.

With the Toyota warranty you have 10 years and 150,000 miles of warranty so I doubt I’d have to replace one.

Nah, I have plenty of time in Toyota hybrids and they are great. Not concerned with spending a few grand on a battery refresh after 2-300k miles either. Reliability is TBD on the 4G but more curious on the driving and performance differences between a custom tuned SC 3G and a 4G, especially since the 12k SC is mostly a sunk cost.
