Yeah - I wish that was still the case. It's certainly still on their website. I bought my truck under that assumption, but when I called to order, verbally, they said not available for 2021. I can only guess its something with the SW side.

So, Haven't driven it too much (added about 200 miles to it since installation) since getting the tuner in. But, I started it up just now and got a check engine light. Weird because the message just says something about ECU. Should I flash again and install the tune? Suggestions?

I'd be looking at wired connections from the install and any exposed connections (wheel sensors, cat connections,...) underneath. What code came up? should not need to reflash.

Right! Did some research after my initial panic alarm! Found out that it's a vacuum leak, which can be a loose hose or improper connection. Going in for a smoke test for certain. Also, I estimate that after pulling the brass nipple, the engine runs more open and seems to breath/operate freely. I'm not gonna lie....I was using a lot more/way more skinny pedal and so far my mileage seems to be the same as far as what I get per tank! Even with all my aggressive driving. lol

For those that have the blower installed and the brass reducer removed is this part of the Magnuson install process or are customers trying to get better performance?

Does the supercharged taco then require premium fuel? Or can it run well on regular

I don't have my blower yet but I would assume that 91 is required.

Better blower response based on pedal input. The truck will become more sensitive to activating boost with less pedal effort required to do so.

With the jet installed boost gradually kicks and the truck will want to stay in vacuum more.

91 or better octane is MANDATORY.

Just a few notes and recommendations from my installation learning process. Use at your discretion.

I know they revised the installation instructions in a few locations - they still missed some things. So here are my corrections/recommendations.

The use a a good heat gun will make the hoses go on and off easier - be sure to use the lubriplate for installation of new hoses.

Go purchase more Loctite Blue 242 - the amount provided is nil compared to what you will use.

Step 41 - just remove the bracket when you remove the bolt - they call for removal of the bracket in step 208

Step 45 - there are only 5 (five) bolts and two nuts

Step 52 - ignore - if you follow my recommendation as follows:
The Fuel rail has to come off no matter what. The removal of the lower manifold is a pain in the ass if you leave the fuel rail on while trying to remove it. It is easier to remove the fuel rail (step 47- 51, 59-62) first and then remove the lower intake. Then reinstall the lower manifold (steps 66-69) per the torque pattern shown in the back of the manual - then remount the injectors and rail on the manifold (steps 63-65). This also allows you easier access to the lower manifold bolts that are otherwise difficult to reach if the fuel rail is on. Hint - use black electrical tape wrapped around end of the socket and head of the bolt/nut to hold the bolt/nut in the socket in hard to reach places - you can start the bolt/nut and slightly tighten and the tape will come out with the socket when done.

Step 69 - remember to use blue loctite 242

    Step 82 - torque to 18 ft /lbs

Step 92 - use Permatex Ultra Black on the back side of the washer against the face of the new pulley.

Step 103 - When you remove the oem lower alternator bolt the alternator may shift - you may need to pry it over to get the new bolt to align.

Steps 240 & 245 - It is easier to install the hoses to the reservoir with the tank un-mounted

The rest of the instructions worked well and went as presented. I think I read the instructions about a dozen times before I started - OCD. GL and take your time -it will all come together like a glove.

It's only like $3-4 more per tank. Is giving up the price of a coffee at Starbucks a week really going to make you stray away from getting a blower?

It isn't exactly about the money, but if you take your "rig" in some more remote locations sometimes 91 isn't available and you're forced to deal with 87 and 85 sometimes.

Yeah, I know that feeling. That’s one reason I was a bit apprehensive to go to 91 tune for OVtune. Luckily there’s octane learning in there to accommodate. I wonder if magnuson’s tune can accommodate that

10/4. The reason why I asked is aftermarket tunes/superchargers etc generally require really high quality of fuel.

Coupled with the high compression in the engine, low quality fuel could cause some catastrophic issues, for a city dweller vehicle that is mostly ok.

But something that sees dirt and 1 lane roads miles away from civilization ... makes the butt-cheeks pucker.

Jerry cans can hold higher octane fuel than just 87, just so everyone knows. Been wheeling with a supercharger for years and never had to put regular in.

If you're going to be spending a couple weeks in Baja I could see the issue, but they do make octane boosters that work well (not the kind you buy at Pep Boys) and you can always carry some of those around for emergencies.
