For those of us unversed in updating software in Portland, will there be a local option for getting this update or will I be driving up to Seattle soon?

We'll finalize information on everything when we're ready/about to release the tune for everyone else.

All of the time and effort @mZiggy, @tonered, @a2lowvw have put into the Yotawerx tune over the last few months will be strapped to the dyno today for fine tuning. We have a 50 page private message thread chock full of flashes, revisions, feedback, data logs, theories, and just a metric shit ton of information going… lol.

If no big surprises come up on the dyno, and after a few more tweaks on the street, I think @mZiggy may release the Yotawerx FI tune soon.

After power optimization for this tune on the 90 mm stock pulley on the dyno is complete this smaller 87 mm pulley will be installed. The question is whether the stock fuel can handle an additional 1-2 psi of boost or if we are at its limits. We will know soon enough.

So… Good news is the Yotawerx tune makes at least as much power as the stock magnuson tune right off the bat. One of the problems we encountered while strapped down is now my clutch is slipping. 40k miles 30% bump in power. Makes sense.
    :annoyed:

Also… the smaller pulley is installed and running safely on the Yotawerx tune. So far the part throttle response is noticeable and well worth the $99. Went from 7 psi on the 90mm to 8 psi on the 87mm at redline.

    More work to do…

Is there a link or part number for the 87mm pulley?

I got it off the pulley: 57-03-06-087-BL

Nice. No indication of a fuel bottle neck yet? I'm at 5.5 PSI, sometimes MAYBE scraping 6 psi if I'm lucky. Rarely ever drive aggressively. No signs of clutch slipping. But bigger tires, extra weight & weight etc its expected... I'm at 25k miles. Looking forward to this tune. At this point, id rather have a smooth fluid driving/shifting over performance.

One silly question... any chance to address the cruise control issue? Not sure if that's something that can be addressed with the tune. Currently if I try to use it at 70-80mph, it will down shift 1 or 2 gears at the slightest incline and never upshift again. Suddenly I'm cruising down the highway at 5k rpms, straight out of a fast and furious movie.

The AT version of the tune addresses shifting, both in and out of cruise control.

After yesterday's dyno time and datalogging, there's still more work that we want to do to further improve this tune.

It's great news that in terms of power, we've matched Magnuson. Sure, we could probably release as-is and then provide an update later down the line to our customers. But I'm not in love with that idea and would prefer to focus on making further adjustments/improvements to the tune. I know that doesn't help you guys much right now, but I believe it will be well worth your guys' patience.

The highlights are that we have matched the benchmark set by Magnuson in terms of power provided, and surpassed it in terms of drivability. And that's what most of you guys ask for at minimum I think anyway. But I don't think that means we should just stop here and be comfortable with that when we know there's more that we can do for you.

I know magnuson claims 370+hp at the crank but I’m curious what you guys saw for power on the dyno. Also did you guys, do a before and after dyno with and without the pulley?

Power was recorded quite low for both Magnuson and Yotawerx, although it's been noted that for some reason @Formidable 's truck seems down on power no matter what tune he's on. OVTune 2.0 typically nets 230-240whp and yet his truck dyno'd something like 212 on OVT. Without any smoothing on the dynograph (standard of SAE 5), something like 270whp and 280wtq was noted for both Magnuson and Yotawerx, which is awfully low for sea level and 92octane. Especially when the Maggy kit is supposed to deliver roughly 300whp for sea level.

Edit: recorded power also low due to 4th gear pulls rather than 3rd.

This suggests that something else is up, such as perhaps John's clutch slipping, or whatever else. He's not the first owner of the truck, maybe the previous owner thrashed it. Who knows.

So verification will be required on another truck.

Nonetheless, we want to further improve the tune for you guys.

I get the impression that *most* Magnuson owners would be happy with the amount of power they currently have if drivability was significantly enhanced, to make their investment more worth it. I firmly believe we've achieved that, but I will let @Formidable and @a2lowvw expand upon that if they wish or not.

But when I know that there's more to attempt to hunt down and provide, I find it difficult to say, "Sweet, we matched Magnuson, we're done." In terms of power provided, merely matching Magnuson's power output wasn't really the goal. The goal is to surpass their tune in both performance and drivability aspects, because this is intended to be a premium tune for this community. And to be quite frank, that means doing everything we can reasonably do to try to maximize what this community will be receiving for their further investment in an alternative tune solution.

Regarding the 87mm pulley, that was slapped on at the end. I forget the exact gains observed however, I don't have it immediately in front of me at the moment as I'm at work right now, but measurable benefit was noted. Something like +1psi observed with an additional yield of 17whp and 18wtq

What are the benefits you're looking at achieving with a manual transmission tune? I have no complaints about drivability since I choose my own gears but I wouldn't mind a better bottom end if that's possible.

Your desire for an improved low end response is just one of the reasons I created the Coyoza MT tune how I did, and it delivers. If you would like firsthand experience regarding that, several people can chime in about that. WRT this FI tune, @Formidable can certainly elaborate on how this tune has improved low end response and delivery for his MT.

Some of the major things that are critical to a good driving experience for MT owners are consistent and predictable throttle control and linear throttle mapping is particularly advantageous for this, and in particular the 3rd gen (and many other vehicles) requires a strong 1st gear to enable a confident shift to 2nd for the driver. Stock, this is not provided.

I'll elaborate on more upon request, if you have any more specific questions
