1st gen - it's got a built engine, a turbo, and waaaaaaay too much to list. 3rd gen - basic-bitch lift, S/C, Pro Wheels

I started my install at 9 am on a Saturday, and took the test drive at 10pm that same night. 99% of the install was done alone. Only things I needed help with was torquing the crank bolt (needed someone to just hold the strap wrench while I torqued) and then support the actual blower while I got the mount bolts started. Other than that it can be done by yourself in one day.

I would have been done like an hour or so sooner if I didn't have to run to AutoZone and rent a damn pulley holder to hold the crank pulley still to break the factory torque loose.

Awesome! OK, so it really comes down to if Magnuson gets me the tune early enough tomorrow.

Yeah, I made sure to get that as soon as my kit came in. I def didn't start the install until I had the all the software and tune ready to go. Good luck!

Yes. Had a weird idle issue soon after install. Magnuson provides their own intake pipe and silicone bellow connector. The issue is the silicone connector on the Magnuson intake pipe is literally glued to the pipe and is meant for use with the stock intake. The problem encountered when you try to install the pipe and connector to the TRD airbox is it can create a leak due to the angle and torque placed on the most proximal portion of the Magnuson bellow connector. Pics below. This results in unmetered air getting sucked in, which causes a surging idle among other things… Some folks are fine. Others not so lucky. Zoom in on where the pipe meets the connector and you can see the gap below on my personal truck. You can literally see the silicone lifting off of the pipe. My recommendation is to get rid of that connector entirely. It is much cleaner and you will never need to deal with a vacuum leak from this spot. You will need a 3.5” to 3.25” reducer x 2” long coupler. Also need a 4” worm clamp, the 3.5” one I purchased didn’t fit, (look at the pic at the clamp that connects directly to the intake box side and you can see why… there’s not much left over on the 3.5” worm clamp and it won’t fit over the proximal portion of the connector). Check the following link but Amazon is notorious for failed links so if it doesn’t work just search. For folks insistent on keeping the Magnuson bellow connector, at the bare minimum I would recommend placing a 4” worm clamp around the glued portion of the intake pipe as that glue obviously does not go 360 around the circumference of that pipe. For folks removing the Magnuson bellow connector make sure to remove ALL of the glue with “goof off”, paint thinner or some other solvent prior to swapping the silicone connector. DO NOT over torque the worm clamps. The fit once the top of the intake is secure is pretty tight and you just need the worm clamps snug. You will damage the silicone or worse yet, damage the ABS plastic pipe if you over torque the clamps.

Anyone have their UpTop UpTake snorkle arrive yet? Wonder if it helps airflow to the SC?

What’s the best (or easiest) way to perform the vacuum leak down test on intercooler system called out in the manual?
