I’ll be interested to see if you can get a clear answer out of them. It’s the only reason I haven’t already pulled the trigger on the SC.

Do you have vF? If so, maybe you could send the tune you like to Maguson and ask them to incorporate their SC changes. That should be easy enough for them to do. They can then lock the tune as they normally do and send it back to you. The only reason I could see them balking at that idea is because you would be considered a custom tune at that point.

 

Then I’m second in line!!! I would gladly pay @OVTune for an upgrade kit. Also, about the smaller pulley. There is one. One of the developers who I spoke to on the phone has been playing with it himself but he was very cautious and did not want to share any info with me. I’m sure it’s any pulley that is smaller than stock for any of the 1900’s. Magnuson is a business and does a great job of mass produced, easy install, reliable kits. It’s going to be up to us to fine tune them to meet our needs.

 

Also @Jowett was looking in to some upgrades for the SC. I'd love to tackle these things myself but know my limitations well enough to leave them to brighter minds than myself

 

Maybe that's why 2nd gear is kick in the pants? I felt that too, but only after I removed the restrictor.

 

Let's not jump the gun on the dyno yet. It's not 100% sure that the dip is caused by the tune. Thanks for everyone giving their input. I'd like to go back on the same dyno with the ABS fuse pulled to omit the braking possibility and also, if possible, enable gear lock so it stays in gear and the dyno operator doesn't need to feather throttle. Now, how do we get gear lock?

 

Presume you are AT, but did you have OVTune / vFTuner before going to the SC? What Tune were you running and how would you compare its' shifting logic to Magnuson Tune?

I wonder if Magnuson would accept vft base file pre-SC and port their FI SC tune into it - thus providing the shifting logic (and GL) ?? Do we know anyone in the Tech area at Magnuson to talk with about this?

 

Just checked. Jacked up the rear and put it in drive. Was able to stop the wheel spin in drive. Tried it in neutral as well and it clearly works. Seems like Toyota made a number of changes to between modern years just to keep us guessing.

 

Anyone running pedal commander with SC? I’m still not happy with throttle response.

 

I’m running Sprint Booster (same function as the pedal commander) with my charger. Definitely fixed the throttle response. I think it’s a good band-aid fix until there’s a better tune. One thing I definitely do like is I can change the tip-in on the fly.
