Never heard of melted wax. Sounds like a lot of work haha

Also, fyi places like Home Depot / Lowes etc sell aerosol cans of Fluid Film. Great for hitting small rust spots and touch ups between major coatings. 1 can goes a long ways too

Think I might have heard/saw something about using castor oil. I have had my truck done once, fall of 2017, and it will take some convincing to get me to switch to something else. There is a product that’s big in Canada I would also consider, but don’t remember the name at the moment.

Rust check might be what you're talking about. Theres a place in Portland somewhere that does it. Seems very similar to FF from what I can tell..

Yeah, they're creatively named 'Rust Check Portland' but are actually in Westbrook, I think.

I have a small compressor, can get a big one but need to drive a few hours for it. I also orders the fluid film gun a while ago, and currently have an unopened gallon of FF.

I want to do it soon and again in the fall. They say after the first few times it soaks in and doesn’t need as often or as much.

Yeah like we were talking about in PM I also have a small compressor. But not sure if it would be enough to run the gun

That's all I use is cans.
Way to much effort for a compressor and gun.
    To much prep and cleanup.
    4 cans on the truck
    3 on the jeep
Maybe 4 cans on the new Corolla for the first time.
I have a wand for the cans.
    Works great.
With the new Corolla my time frames will be changing.. Lol

I forgot, I also think I have the wand, as I ordered a kit back a couple years ago.

Depends on what we all decide to do. This is about trying to get something set up, but I don’t see why not.

They are just off the Turnpike exit For Westbrook, but some of the business there on Riverside St are still located in Portland.
I took my truck to Rust Check last Nov and wish I would have started taking my truck to them when it was new. Rust Check has a life time warranty that is transferable for any vehicle they treat long as they start treating it before its 3 years old.
