IIRC IT helps harsh shift and as a result hunting less. If you can find the TSB for Harsh shift, It should give you a Vin range

As Mike said check your VIN. I *think* trucks after 2018 or 19 should come standard with the newest ECU and TCU programming to help with the gear hunting. But dont quote me on that, I dont follow 3rd gen stuff as much.

You should be able to call any Toyota Dealer service department and they should be able to tell you if you have had the update done based upon your VIN number. Better to find out before you show up if it has been done or not.

I am not sure since I have a 2014. You can do a web search, or search Tacoma World using the same search terms and add "tacoma world" to the search words. Or, you might be able to call a dealership and armed with the VIN number the dealership should be able to see if there are any available TSB's that have not been done. I seem to recall that there was a place online to search what TSB's were available according to your VIN # but I could be completely wrong or incredibly confused.

Think I’m going to take the spray cans of wool wax again this year, still haven’t convinced myself to get a compressor to use my fluid film stuff.

I honestly don't know, I was hoping someone here might know/ if the wool wax had a swelling effect on whatever it is.

It looks like the spot there is a sticker over one of the frame holes. Then it looks undercoated and someone pressed on the sticker and the undercoat stretched.

I bring it to Walker's Used Cars in Standish. They are on 114. They did the first initial treatment last year for me and I thought they did a great job. So I am bringing it back there this year.

If it makes you feel any better I have a similar spot, also treated with Woolwax. No idea if it was like that before.

I found a guy in South Portland that did a Woolwax coating for less than $200. Forget the exact amount.

I try to avoid spraying FF on stuff that isnt metal just because it doesnt need it. Havent observed any side effects of overspray though

At Walker's in Standish, I paid $200 for the first treatment last year. It is $100 each following treatment/year.

FWIW I spray FF (both from rattle can and via my compressor) and have never noticed swelling or anything like that, on metal or otherwise. I don't specifically try to avoid non-metallic surfaces.
Maybe you're seeing dirt/dust/mud accumulate on the FF/WoolWax, mixing with more FF/WW etc, making some kind of greaseball?

I am planning to do woolwax spray on Monday NOV 1st.. its supposed to be sunny and up to 58* sunday I plan to pull my skids, and sliders, and scrape the frame, spray it down inside and out, and get as much of the sand, and dirt out of the frame that I can, and paint what I can.. Monday I'll have my setup out and be spraying dry the frame (air gun with 1-2ft nozzles), and then coating with woolwax.. planning to do the wife's 4runner as well...

I'm located in Thomaston, just bring your own gallon of woolwax, and do some frame prep beforehand.
