Maint Reqd light 2013

I bought a 2013 with 52k miles on it. The truck had an aftermarket instrument cluster that I replaced with an OEM. I had the ECU checked to make sure miles were the same as odometer and it has a clean carfax. Anyway the maint reqd light is on solid on the new cluster and wont reset using instructions in manual. Any ideas??

 

What aftermarket instrument cluster is there for a taco?

 

It actually is a Toyota cluster but the odometer readout lcd is changed and background is flat black w/o the woven looking pattern. This was a Canadian truck and was converted from km to mph. Anyway I put a new one in and the maint reqd is solid and will not reset.

 

Unplug it, then plug it back in

You know there's 2 different reset procedures depending on the year, right?

 

I tried reset procedure on trip A and odometer. For fun I tried trip B with no luck. In the manual it says for U.S.A only beside instructions. I searched the web for any Canadian reset procedure and found nothing.

 

Canadian trucks didn't come with maintenance required lights. Have wondered for awhile what happens if you plug a US cluster into a Canadian truck.

 

You are right old cluster is Toyota and does not have the maint reqd light maybe that's why they only change out the odometer readout and background of speedometer? Only cost me $300 to figure that out!
