The same shit everyone else has.
Have you driven 5000 miles since it was reset?

Was the battery disconnected between now and the last reset?

Was the maintenance light reset less than 5000 miles ago?

I thought I was following what was trying to be said, until this.

When the dealership did your maintenance, this probably includes an oil change, they probably reset the maintenance required light so, it shouldn’t light up until you drive the 5000 miles.

Answer the above questions. If you’ve expecting it to light up because 6 months has passed, it won’t. It’s a mileage based timer, not a time based timer.

For example, I drive mine about 7000 miles per year. 6 months after my last oil change, I change the oil and reset the light. The reason I reset the light is so it doesn’t light up after a recent oil change. Also if by chance I drive 5000 miles before 6 months, I’ll know I need to do the oil change earlier than planned.

Buy a paint marker and write on your oil filter the date and miles it was installed

I tear then top flap off of the box the filter came in and write down mileage and date when I change oil. I then place the flap inside the console. That way I have a record of when I changed oil the last time. And I know which filter to buy the next time. My light still works, but I don't always get 5000 miles in 6 months. And I prefer to change after 6 months even if I'm not at 5000 miles.

I think someone is gas lighting you, there is a possibility that someone reset your maintenance required light early. Reset it when you change oil even if it doesn't come on and see what happens after the next 5000 miles

So, you’re saying someone may have prematurely ejected the reset button? That’s a possibility. Lord knows that’s happened to me a few times

Look at the paperwork from the "routine maintenance" the dealer did. If an oil change is on there then the light was reset..

Also, lmao at the guys saying "the maintenance light is just there to scare you back to the dealer for unneeded work"

Yea, the maintenance light is a scam to take groceries out of your fridge

I'm gonna call Oscams Razor on this. You or someone you know accidentally reset the mileage counter for you maintenance light so it is off cycle.

Just do your maintenance and reset it. It should come back on in 5k miles.

I give OP credit for actually being concerned about maintenance.
For most, it seems to be an inconvenience. (Even I’ve been guilty of it).

    Here’s to you OP:cheers:
