Should be an easy reset, right.? Tried the easy Odometer reset technique 3 times and light still blinks 8 times when I start and then goes off. Any ideas?? Thanks!

2012 needs to be set to Trip A then turn the key off, while holding the trip/reset button turn the key on, continue holding the button, the odometer should show dashes that count down, when the display reads all 0s release the button.

Key on. Trip meter (A) showing. Turn ignition off. Press and hold trip reset and turn the ignition on. Watch in the odometer area, a bunch of dashes count down and it flashes zeros. You should be good

Yea it depends on the year model and vehicle on weather you need to set it to odometer, trip A, or trip B.
Owners manuals can be found here if you don't have one.

Don't forget to change your oil if you haven't already, that's what the maintenance reminder is there for.
