Maintenance Required Light staying on after oil change is done

    Its tricky sometimes. I dont think that will do it for you. There are different procedures. The procedure for my 13' is different then for your first gen I think. GL either way!

    In Late 2011 they changed the combination meter from the Red lighting to the white.

    Red meters use the odometer.
    White meters use the Trip A Meter.

    I read the many posts about how to reset the "maint req'd" light. All those who posted that you should turn it to the "trip" setting were wrong, at least in my case. After many attempts, I turn it to ODO and using the same procedure, the ODO reading went to 000000 and the light went out. I have a 2006 4x4.

    i do this stupid thing.

    i used Trip A to measure mileage so i can check MPG periodically. Trip B, i reset when i change the oil, thinking can try to time my oil changes.. in the history of owning my truck i have yet to NOT mistakenly reset Trip B, and screw up my idea...i should really stop caring..we do have a maint-light.
