I spent hours searching, and I cannot find the maintenance schedule for the V6 models. I saw it for the 4cyl. But since i do not let the dealer touch my truck and I like to do all maintenance my self, i want to know what needs to be done and when? I have an 09 V6 prerunner, with 25k miles on it so far.

Thank you very much! I don't have any idea how I did not find that, after searching so many key words. So the 30, 60 and 90 service is the same? it just repeats? I how come I do not see a tranny fluid change? it would assume it needs to be changed out before 90k miles.

It is a sealed tranny from what I understand (mine is manual) and doesn't require servicing... or so I have heard.

Oh ok, I have an auto, the manual may be different, I am sure the auto needs a fluid change. Also, I am sure the truck needs a new battery too, but at what point? This is why I would like an official maintenance schedule. I never thought to look in the manual for it, but I should check that out tomorrow.

Everything is in the manual and if you're registered at Toyota they actually send you reminders when things are due. Somebody also posted it here on this web site. I did see it at one time.

Manual stated originally that it was 100k before service. I am farily positive it has since been changed to 60k. Very easy to drain and fill, I will do mine every 15k.

Ok guys, sorry to bump this back up again, but I looked at my manual and believe i looked at almost every page and did not see when what services need to be done. Maybe its in some manuals but not mine. which is an 09 if that matters. Doesn't anyone do the services themself here? or does anyone have the factory service manual? i am sure it would be in there.

wow! its been that easy all along huh! thank you very much!!

I am curious though why up to 120,000 miles it still never stated to replace battery or even replace automatic tranny fluid?

Batteries are replaced when they wear out or fail, just like tires.

Under "normal" conditions you don't have to change the tranny fluid very often, but if you tow, go off road, or drive in a lot of stop and go traffic, you should change it more. At least every 50,000 miles IMO.

Looking at the service guide available at toyotaownersonline.com, the first mention I noticed of transmission fluid replacement was at 60,000 miles, listed under "Driving while Towing". Manual trans was earlier, at 30,000 miles (also when "Driving while Towing").

I have heard on here that Toyota (dealers?) are now recommending transmission oil replacement at 60,000 miles regardless of driving conditions.

That's probably not a bad idea.
