Hey TW what do you peeps suggest.
First off I am aware of what the manual says. My vehicle is not a lease etc it is mine. I am not ok with an oil change one time per year.
I have owned my truck about a year now.
I seem to be putting on only about 12,000 kms a year.
I voluntarily took my truck to Toyota for an oil change after 6 months/ 6000 kms.
I had new rims and tires put on around 5,000kms.
It has been 6 months so i am going to take it in for another oil change.
Should I do a tire rotation this time (about 7000kms since tires put on) and then perhaps every oil change if 6000km/ 6 month intervals?
Should I do the 16,000 km service this time?
Im assuming the USA maintenance is the same just based on mileage.

I just follow the maintenance plan provided by Toyota. Tire rotation every 5k miles and oil every 10k miles.

Doesn't matter. As long as the truck is ok with it. :D

Send a sample to Blackstone and see for yourself. They'll recommend an OCI based on the real world results.

If I stayed stuck in the past I'd still be doing 2k or 3 month changes, and wondering if detergent oil was really any better than the oil I'd been using. And pretty sure that alternator wasn't going to be as reliable as the generators of the past.

Had a buddy mention something about greasing zerks and/or driveshaft. Anyone have any info or suggestions on this?

Lets put it this way. I went to Toyota, i said i wanted an oil change the service guy says, "nono no need till 10,000kms"
Then he leans over the counter and says, " o u own not a lease right? Ya i cant say i would recommend waiting that long for an oil change either"

You have a choice... believe the guys who designed it ( plus countless oil analysis done by Blackstone) or, believe that guy. Your call.
