Fellas, I had a new clutch installed about a year ago. Everything was replaced:AISN pressure plate, Sachs flywheel, and URD throwoutbearing sleeve kit. Since replacing the clutch I noticed a very mild chattering when the truck was cold. I informed my mechanic about the problem but he informed that everything seemed ok. We’ll, Yesterday, the chattering became worse and than the truck started to jerk extremely hard and was shuttering in both first gear and reverse. I have never experienced anything like this in my 20+ years of owning a manual trans and am afraid the flywheel wasn’t properly torqued and has come loose. Any insight would be greatly appreciated and having the truck tore down to identify the issue. Keeping my fingers crossed that major damage hasn’t occurred and will inform once I confirm what the problem is.

    Check the clutch fluid level.

There are two inspection covers on the transmission. Driver side and very bottom where it mates to the engine.

Sounds like it might need to come back apart.

Thnx man I appreciate the info and my mechanic said it’s feels as though a spring might have cracked or something. So we’ll see. At this point I’m just frustrated and hoping it’s not the trans because the stealership quoted me 3600 bills. This is what I have to say about that :brianr:

Does it just jerk when engaging the clutch? If so it could just be hot burned areas on the flywheel.

No, the Truck is also struggling to move forward. Believe I won’t really know until the tranny’s tore apart

Probably not the transmission so you shouldn't have to tear it apart.

My money would be on the weaker link, the clutch disk and or pressure plate.

Yeah, I meant have to unbolt the trans to inspect what failed. Just irritated because the clutch is only year and half old and used an ASIN clutch and Sacs flywheel, so I’m really scratching my head wondering if it wasn’t installed right or if shit just happens as they say. I guess i’ll Find out soon enough though. If it is just the clutch than I’m upgrading to the URD stage two clutch for better bite since I’m running 32’s
