My wifey was a little shaken up last night. It was kinda funny cuz about an hour after the quake we were watching TV -
I have an acoustic guitar hanging on the wall behind the sofa and one of the strings randomly broke and scared the shit out of her, it literally scared her worse than the earthquake did :goingcrazy:

Relax man, I don’t want anyone to get hurt. I just happen to think SF is a cesspool. I mean lt really is given the fact that there is literally lots of piles of shit just laying all over the streets

Just bought a place in Big Pine last week. Wife was all "call the realtor, email the owner, make sure it is ok".
He said they did not feel the first one but did feel last nights. No damage 100 miles north.

Adding earthquake bracing to my list. Although my neighbor is an insurance agent and told me EQ Insurance is a worthless joke. Your home and contents are covered under your home policy if it catches fire - suggested that we knock over a candle and let it burn....

I didn't feel Thursday's quake but I felt it last night. It was actually very mild, the house gently rocked back and fourth for 20-30 seconds. No creaking or popping like houses sometimes do. The only cracks in the drywall are from my substandard repairs... :D

    Welcome to Big Pine!

Might as well break the gas line to your furnace or water heater first. If your going to commit insurance fraud you'd better damn well do it right and leave no evidence. lol

Weird thing, we were camping at Keo Hot Springs last week and water from the outflow seemed a lot cooler than normal. Didn't have a thermometer to test.

Thanks, only took 3 years to finally score a place we could afford. Can't wait to get out of the San Diego concrete jungle....

I felt the first one here at home in HB which felt fairly significant. Last night at work in a hospital in San Gabriel I was with a patient and she is CERT. I asked if she wanted to leave the building or take cover. She declined. It was the longest quake event I can remember and I've lived here since 71. I remember the 94 quake as I was sleeping in a multistory building at Camp Pendleton. Out of staters were freaking out. Us dumb locals were back to sleep in no time.

I think you're kidding about this. There is a long history of earthquake activity in this region. The hydrothermal plant at Haiwee has been there a while.

I was at the Crab Cooker last week. I think it's the Crab Cooker. Last time I was there it was dry because the valve was leaking and to repair it required reaching into super hot water. This time the valve is working somewhat. It's still leaking but I did notice the pool filled quickly when I opened it up. Still super hot. Shepherds was nice as was little hot creek.

"Crab Cooker is robust enough to accommodate a small group of approximately six people. That said, if people in the group aren't already acquainted with each other, anything over four may be a bit uncomfortable in the small space."

I figured it wasn't the Crab Cooker. I've only soaked at Little Hot Creek and Shepherds in that area. One day I'll head over to Hilltop and the "cooker".
Does the one in the pic I provided have a name? It would be a great spot if it were working a bit better.

    LOL
    Is that you?
Over the years I've become far less concerned with issues with nudity at springs/swimming holes. It's about meeting people and sharing the experience. Hopefully the recent earthquakes have not affected the flow at my favorite spots.
Here's another from my recent trip...yes I'm a pale bastard.

Ha! Nope, not me. I just googled Crab Cooker hot spring and that's the first image that popped up.
