Apparently the earthquake caused Trona Road to split about 6 inches.

I remember the 1994 Northridge earthquake vividly, I was 8 years old and it was the night we moved to Los Angeles from Austin, TX. My mom, dad, brother, sister and I drove in that day and stayed at a Hampton Inn in Valencia because the house my parent's bought wasn't ready yet (and wouldn't be ready for another few weeks after the quake).

Got woken up in the early hours of the morning to the whole hotel shaking violently and people screaming everywhere, my dad rushed us all outside (which we learned later is the last thing you're supposed to do...supposed to take cover inside). When we got outside you could see the top of the 4 or 5 story hotel had caved in in some parts and pieces of the adobe roof tiles were plunged into the ground all around the building outside. Was pretty terrifying.

I remember my brother was 3 years old at the time and while everyone was freaking out outside, he was saying "I wanna do it again!!" haha

I remember the big overpass going over the 5 and 14 freeways collapsed and was renamed after a police officer that died when he drove over it in the dark responding to the emergency

Hope we never have to go through something like that again. To this day, when I hear a semi truck or something driving by a building I'm inside of, my heart rate increases. That's the exact sound I remember hearing in the few seconds before the shaking started back then.

I remember the 1992 Landers Big Bear Quake very well I was with my 4x4 club out in Lucerne Valley camping . I was sound asleep in my tent when the quake hit at 0500hrs

The earthquake a strong 7.3 magnitude scared the s**** out of me the rest of my club members as I looked over the open Desert there was alot of dust in the air . It was eerily quiet it was scary and took all of maybe an hour to calm down

We as a club made the decision to head back home after breakfast that morning and all was well until just after 0800hrs a second quake hit the Big Bear area with a 6.5 magnitude earthquake

By that time everyone was scared and we packed up as fast as possible and headed home

I was shopping in Long Beach, I didn't feel it but I heard things falling off shelves, I thought someone knocked over a rack. It wasn't until someone said "Earthquake" that I realize what was going on. Going to check on my parents' house tomorrow in Joshua Tree, see how it held up.
