major rust issues

The paint on top of the truck is flaking off badly. Notging has hit it or scraped. I was quoted $200 to linex the roof. Do first gens have paint issues? And does 200 sound too much

 

$200 to do the top of the roof is very affordable.

I was just quoted $250 to do an extra 2" on the tailgate rail (plus a taper on either rear quarter panels above the tail light).

Depending on where your truck resides (lots of UV, winter conditions), how much you maintained the pain (washing, clay bar, polish, wax, etc), if it sits outside 24/7 or if it's garaged... there could be clear coat peeling issues.

I have a bit on the leading edge of the roof, just above the windshield. Some rust bubbling up and clear coat peeling.

 

It looks way worse in person, tons of rust too.
Its always outside and ive been deployed and overseas to much to properly take care of it. From what you said, 200 sounds like a steel. Thx for the info
