There is nothing like using both hands and feet to control a car. It's like a dance.

HOW HAVE ALL OF YOU OWNED SO MANY CARS?

God, am I the only person that keeps a car for longer than 3 years or something?

I've had around 14 or 15 cars and a lot of them I kept for more than 3 years.

Have those been daily type cars or do you have a bunch of project cars/toys at the same time?

Or are you just 90 and I'm severely underestimating the age of everyone on this forum lol

Not all my cars were new. Some were just beaters that I putted around in for a few months until I found the next car that I wanted to get. But I still count them.

The ones I keep for a long time are my dailies. I'm 30, and had my fair share of projects/flips/trades. Oh, not to mention I've had like 6 or 7 motorcycles too lol

Currently has head gasket leak plus 2 California catalytic converters disintegrated. Had already fixed transmission after coolant intermix and 2 other catalytic converters.

I bought a manual, because there is nothing like rowing your own gears. I think that the M/T threads exist due to the fact that manuals are dying in the united states. We're the few who are keeping this alive for your regular consumer inside of the states.

I personally believe the roads would be a lot safer if automatics didn't exist. I am unable to check my phone if I'm driving.

    all tore up already
Better control offroad, less to worry about and drives awesome mostly. Plus feels more powerful due to different rear end. Obviously a bit different than a wrx but the satisfaction of a well timed shift is the same.

I know im odd but theres just no feeling like a well done 1-2 shift POP POP GARBALALALA (even if those revs hang way too long, just like my last wrx)

@CG3 I haven't read your whole thread, but I get the idea from a couple of pages. I came from a 2011 WRX Hatch with a Cobb stage 1+ tune that I put 189k on. I only considered the Tacoma because of the manual. I enjoy being in control and engaged with the vehicle. I test drove an auto when looking at the Tacomas because no one had one with a stick. The auto was alright, but it wanted to get into top gear as soon as possible. The S mode helps, but its no replacement for a stick. The Tacoma manual is pretty smooth too and nice for a truck. Plus the manual gets better rear end differential ratios for increased get up and go off the line. No race car, but better than an auto. No regrets on my purchase and I have 35,000 miles on my 2017 TRD Off Road. FWIW I am also averaging around 20 MPG mixed.
