Dose anyone have any idea how I could make a 2.4l 4cly Tacoma louder without sounding like a ricer Honda Civic?

4 cylinder will always sound like a 4 cylinder.

    Thank you for the reply!

Louder is the new mating call with trucks.

Even the 3.4 sounds meh with an aftermarket exhaust system.

I put a k&n intake system and a magnaflow exhaust and I think it sounds great. I just bought a cat forward header for my 2.7. I'm going to I stall this weekend.

The 2.7L I purchased this summer has a glasspack under it and it sounds decent I guess...but going down the highway who wants to hear that constant noise? I have to turn up the music just so I don't hear it anymore... I would remove it but I have other more important things to work on right now. Plus, no welder...

Do you want it “loud” or to sound “good”?

Loud is easy: muffler delete mod and a k&n cai. But to sound good, that’s an entirely different thing. Best best is an Iforce v8 swap, lol, or at least a 3.4L, or maybe a 4L v6...

There’s a reason those civics sound stupid. They’ll always sound like 4cyls. Even the full race engines sound like a 4cyl, but at least then sound better than throwing a fart muffler on it, which is all most those guys do.

I have a k&n “cold air” and imo it does not sound “good”, just loud. I have a 3.4L.

I live in the south also. I like the sound when city driving but if you're going on a long trip just remember you'll have to hear that the whole way.

I don’t really mind it, I used to have a v6 s10 with flowmasters so I’m used to loud.

A flowmaster or similar chambered muffler and keeping the rpms lower, they sound ok. More old school 4 banger sounding than ricer, but if you rap it up into the higher rpms you'll still get a ricer sound. 4 banger will always sound like a 4 banger, no way around it. No other cylinder configuration ever will sound as good as a v8.

Unfortunately it’s still just a 4cyl, so unless you drop some serious coin on it for a race spec motor, it will always just sound like a loud 4cyl.

    Funny as F#CK....
    Ricer Honda civic???

Toyota and Honda are still both "jap tin cans" as many consider it.

SAD TO SAY, YOUR TOYOTA STILL A RICER. EVEN MORE A RICER IF IT'S LOUD. HONDA RICER IS LOUD BUT ATLEAST SOMEWHAT SLOWFAST. TACOMA WILL JUST BE SLOW LOUD.

    SORRY, NOT TO DISAPPOINT YOU
