Not angry, just find it funny.

Ricer Honda? but toyota is also a ricer. Both are JAP car, thats why they're refer to as ricer.

Toyota be no different if you're trying to make it loud, will just be ricer toyota

Op refer to ricer honda loud. What difference if he was to make his toyota loud, someone will just consider it a ricer toyota.

I own both toyota and Honda, so no hate here. I just find op comment funny as...

I've always known ricers as cars that look fast and sound fast but arent fast. And I think he wants the truck to just sound better/deeper, not "fast" cause it's a truck

That's what it seemed like. Just funny how he came about it. That was all.

Ricer cars are refer to as Japanese vehicle or at least in the west coast that's what they're refer to.. think they're fast, loud, but wouldn't go anywhere. Honda, toyota, Nissan, etc. Don't hear the term ricer for a domestic vehicle

    Continue on....

Exactly what you said, I don’t want it to sound like a high pitch car you hear going down the road that sounds like they have a fart can or hole in their muffler. That’s what I’m referring to as a ricer.

Get an mp3 of a good engine, play it in your stereo while you drive. You can pretend you have a v8 and you won't annoy anyone else. Wins all around.

4 banger is a good engine.....might not be a loud engine but that doesn't make it bad.

If you meant good sounding you would be correct.

As long as you keep the rpms down they don't sound to bad, but if you gotta rap it to 5k between every shift it's gonna sound ricey.

Making it loud is easy. Making it loud w/o sounding like some kid made it loud 'just because' is what's hard.

It's almost impossible to get a nice throaty sound out of the 6, much less the 4.

Even a Miata with a header and ITBs will sound better than a Tacoma. Even though with all that expense the resulting power add is marginal.

This helped me decide on my exhaust. https://youtu.be/POQy3FdtCGg From a fellow tacomaworld member

Listen with headphones on and it sounds pretty much like how it sounds in person.

Like I said, you’ll need a high hp race motor if you don’t want it to sound like that.

The reason “ricers” sound like that is because they are trying to make their beer can piston engines sound more powerful (loud adds like 50hp, right?) with mufflers and exhaust tips.

It’s the whole lipstick on a pig thing, except the lipstick is an auditory assault, and the pig is a 4cyl with no actual increase in power.

It sounds like the sound you prefer is the type that comes from actual power output, so be prepared to drop some serious coin on your engine.

Or, just be happy you have a super reliable rock solid motor as is, and won’t ever sound like a big powerhouse.

I've never understood why folks want a loud vehicle..show up to the hunting camp with all that noise and other hunters will run you off. It doesn't sound "cool", its just a bunch of noise. Leave the subwoofers off also..shake my head everytime some idiot drives by in a jacked up z71 with all that nonsense.

I am in complete agreement. Making your truck loud doesn't make you cool and its useless. Spend your money on actually making the truck better. There are so much better mods you could do with the money...bumpers, sliders, winch, lights, etc. Or maybe there is some maintenance you could do... suspension, spark plugs, ball joints, who knows.
