When I was first looking for a new truck, I was positive that I was going to get the Sport (Would have gotten the pro if it came in a longbed). Loved the looks of it more than the OR. I test drove both of them back to back and much preferred the softer ride of the OR so that’s what I ended up with. When I first got it, I was also thinking of swapping the black bumpers and over fenders with the paint matched versions from the Sport (pretty pricey) and decided to hold up. It didn’t take long for the OR’s Looks/configuration to win me over and now I wouldn’t change it if you paid me. I took care of the scooped hood issue (after 15 months of hood envy) and am very happy with my decision to not make my OR look like a sport, but instead look like a Pro.

Still looks like an OR to me not a Pro, lol..:notsure: Some people take the Sport and swap the suspension for OR. Me, I don’t like the OR suspension, feels like you are on a boat.

I suppose that’s good then ... because it is an OR ... except it’s got the Pro suspension which I like way better than the stock Bilsteins.

Get the OR, then buy the scooped hood for $1,000 and color matched fenders for around an extra $500 or more?

All in all, you get the best of both worlds for about $2k more

The front bumper is color matched anyway and you can always get the rear color matched (my OR is from the factory). Other than that, you'd just need to replace the hood. Personally, I think the OR wheels are nicer than the Sport wheels too. As for the fender flares, you'd have to replace them or just get black like I did!

I really appreciate all the replies. It’s still such a tough decision. But I fell like I’m learning a ton reading all these posts. Thx so much.

Get the SR5 put a Sport hood and a set of off road take offs on it. Sell your take off hood and SR5 wheels.

Sport and OR cost the exact same amount so I think it would cost about the same to modify either one look or behave like the other.

The front bumper is actually different, the small cover on the face is body color on the sport and black on the OR

Now that you mention it, I see it now. I guess I thought he was referring to the bumper itself.

you can’t see over that hood scoop on a incline. Unable to see the spotter is not a good thing.

    Mmmmm..

they cost the same but I got several $k off because they had more inventory on sports. Depends on what’s in your area . Typical sports are $1-$3k less.
Covid-19 might have changed all that due to lack of inventory .
I also thought I would never off road my truck. Ha... then I found Tacoma World...

Yeah only the cool kids have off roads.
The worst thing I have done with mine is drive in the creeks around here. Only had to put it in 4x4 high twice. I don't go on trail rides. I drive it back and forth to work, grocery, and church. You make you happy, and that will be perfect for you. I wanted a inferno sport m/t. I got a blue offroad m/t. The M/T was the most important thing to me.

I always say do whatever floats your boat. Whether it’s buying the truck or modding it. Most people are using their trucks the same as you, but TW pushes the locker as a must have.

Also, BBP was a great color for these trucks. Sad that they discontinued it.
