    None thus far
I have a 2017 TRD Sport 4x4 double cab. I had some doubts when buying this truck new last December and as it turns out I really should have gone with the Colorado cuz my 6'2" frame does not fit too well in the Taco. Trading the Taco in for a Colorado is an option but it's a costly one. I thought maybe it's worth to see if the driver's seat can be made adjustable in height as this is the main issue.

Does anyone know what it would take to modify the seat so that it's adjustable in height? I would prefer the manual adjuster rather than power, but at this point I will go with any reasonable option as it will be less costly than trading the truck in. It's got just 5,000 km on it and trading it for a new Colorado at the end of the year when GM clears out the 2018's will at minimum set me back 5k.

    Any advice? Let me know!

Most people add spacers. I would try washers from tractor supply to find the best height position at a cheap cost, then find a machined piece to your liking after you figure out where you want to be for less sketchiness. Aside from finding a vehicle that seats would swap over from, that would probably be a nightmare. I know my old sonata had a manual lever for height. Seats were also trash otherwise though..

Glad the other tall folk fit well, but this gent doesn't. Everyone has different positional comfort folks..

The FRS seats fit in the tacoma and are height adjustable, but most just add washers or machined spacers to get the seat just right. Another option is to goto a upholstery guy and see if they can add some material to the seat or carve out some foam. Cost is around 200 for that.

6'4 250 lb. No problems man. My advice? Spend 30 minutes in your driveway changing it up. Try getting in headfirst instead of ass first. Try sitting more upright or laid back. Point is, there is a position where you will be comfortable. Might not be the same one you used before tho. Different vehicles require different positions for big guys. Totally different for me than my last vehicle but still comfortable. Just drove nine hours Tuesday. No problems.

At 6’-3” I find that when I sit in the seat, in what I find to be a comfortable seating position my head hits the headliner. It’s annoying cause I have to lean the seat back a fair bit more then what I find to be comfortable. It’s fine for short road trips but not sure how it’s going to be on a long highway trip. I was thinking of trying to make a seat out of a VW fit in it as they have manual adjustable seats that are comfortable.

.05" 1'x2" 6061 aluminum flat bar stock, and a couple 10x50mm 10.9 grade bolts with grade 8 washers and lock washers. I installed the spacers where the back of the drivers seat attaches to the floor. It takes the pressure off of my hamstrings. I am only 5-5 so I don't know if it would be any help for you, however, I played around with longer bolts and a stack of washers to find my custom height adjustment.

6'4" and I sit fine. Just wish the windshield was taller. Have to duck to see the stop lights if I'm within the first three cars stopped. I know, 2nd gen, but still.

I’m only 5,11... but I have a really tall torso and short legs. Spending 30 minutes with the truck really helped me get dialed in.

To get in, I back in ass-first and tilt my head to the left. Really cut down on the ingress pain.
