I have a 99 Tacoma prerunner and I want to make my blinkers functions as running lights when I turn my lights to the first position. I also want them to still function as blinkers.

As well as I would like to make my marker lights stay functioning as running light and also have them be blinkers too.

I’m not sure how this could be done. I’m sure there is a simple wiring trick I need to be told. Does anyone know of a way to do this? (Ps. My running lights and my blinkers are both two wire sockets if that helps)

    5 pin relay
Interrupt (cut) Parking wire to lamp crimp terminal to it then insert in pin 30 of relay.
Other side of cut wire crimp another terminal, insert in pin 87a. These are always connected internally in the relay.
Intercept (tap into) turn signal, this wire goes to pin 87 of relay (turn) and also to pin 86 of relay (closing coil to have pin 30 & 87 mate)
pin 85 ground of relay coil.

Top is when Parking circuit is ON or OFF, relay needs no power since internally pin 30 & 87a are connecting.

Bottom is the power from the TURN circuit energizing the coil on pin 86, making pin 30 disconnect from 87a and connect to 87. At same time power goes to pin 87 to pin 30 (parking lamp). The flashing will not be as pronounced since it'll be ON - ON. You'll only notice the flashing better when Parking circuit is OFF. Both lamps will flash simultaneously.

Would I have to get 5 pin relays in order to do this or do I use the ones already on the truck? I guess I’m still a little confused? Also where does 87a go to/come from?

If you leave pin 87 empty, there'll be no change on the marker lamp when the Parking circuit is OFF.
But when the Parking circuit is ON and there's no power from the turn signal on pin 87, the marker will have an alternating flash from the turn lamp. As in, marker ON, signal selected, maker OFF when turn signal ON.

    Added ones.
87a gets connected to the Marker wire that needs to be cut. One side of the wire to 87a, the other (to marker, already there) on 30.

What type of 5pin relay do I need to get? Or are they all the same?

there are many types. Sealed, unsealed, amps they handle, size. A sealed mini relay is what I recommend.

If I wanted to make my blinker into a running light and blinker how would I wire that? I want to keep the running light the way it is just make the blinker into a running light and blinker.
