Good thing you're ok...will you be able to go after the owner of the cow to cover expenses? I think up here in the Nort, the farmers are liable if their animals wander off onto the roadways and for any subsequent damage.

 

Thanks. Fortunately the insurance claims nobody at fault, so my rate won't go up and it won't appear on my record. All i've had to pay is the deductible. As for going after the owner, so far i've been told by my insurance agent that Texas has weird laws that protect farmers against such things. Farmers down here also have a habit of not branding or tagging their cattle, so it'll be impossible to track them down when this kind of thing happens. I learned today that the damage is 80% of the vehicle's worth, so I have no doubt it's going to be totaled. The body shop is still waiting on state farm's response. So i'll be going over to strip as many mods off as I can before it is no longer mine.
