Got bored, so I grabbed a piece of quarter inch/3 16's sprinkler pipe from work...decided I wanted to make a pipe bumper. I still need to burn it all in...but it cost me nothing just work scraps. null_zps5d9623e2_f16246adc1f00924325d5710c5e6e50f537337f5.jpgnull_zps3c826d74_8c7987832ff204be3b9b0dc7e13c4719f6a93478.jpgnull_zps10e223c2_722f10509e9e43df9457a07a1331e807287825b5.jpg it's just tacked together need to burn it in and grind ...prime and paint...I was just bored

Looking good so far! Curious to see how it turns out, I don't think I've seen a bumper out of a single length of pipe/tube before.

Now, I am thinking of making a pipe bumper for the front...same diameter same shape as factory, only it will allow me to put the lower plastic valence on blinkers and all...I just need more pipe! so many ideas ....so little time.

Cool Bumper. That body of Tacoma was one of the best for roll pans, and all sorts of bumpers. The 2nd gen's are so hard to work with in comparison being that the bottom rear bed sides are sliced off. Good looking truck!

what type of steel/pipe is that?

Looks cool. Our truck in SA has a similar bumper but its 2 tubes. Always liked that style but not sure how it would look on a tacoma, possibly something I may design for my 2nd gen.

The pipe is quarter inch thick sprinkler pipe,it's about 4.5 inches diameter. A guy at work gave it to me, he said I would like it because it is galvanized too:) at least it will out last the body here in pennsylvania ...lol
