    I have a 4cyl Tacoma and I was wondering if there’s a way to make my truck 4x4 instead of 4x2 ?

I really can’t because I’m still paying it off and I bought it off a lady ik it wasn’t the smartest idea to do but I had to buy a truck and it wasn’t bad deal for a Tacoma 2019

In all seriousness, it would cost more and be more trouble to add it than to trade it.

If you think buying a 2wd wasn't the smartest idea, and trading in won't work, you're not going to like the cost and effort of the other way.

But it is possible? Lol I’m just trying to see or do I have to do the whole engine swap to a v6 if that’s the case I’ll just leave it to what it is

Yep, if its in good shape trade in for base 4x4 would be cheaper.

Man dang idk I just have done some thing to the truck that I don’t think it’s worth trading it for and if I do trade it I’ll have like two cars to pay off bc I bought it from a lady and getting one from the dealers

People have done it in 2nd gen trucks, don't know about 3rd gens (I don't hang out in the 3rd gen forum much) but you would probably get better info on feasibility in the 3rd gen forums.
My opinion, even if it's possible it will likely cost you more than trading for a 4x4 truck unless you find a cheap salvage donor truck.

Just like the others have said, trade it. Cry once and call it a day. Not worth the hassle to convert it to a 4x4.

Why would anyone buy a 2wd truck, seems like a waste of money in my mind.

If it's a towing rig / highway princess I can see it as an option if you are in state like Texas, otherwise yes it's a waste.

It was the first link I found. Procedures will be different but cost and effort is likely more.

I posted it more as a cautionary link than a information link.

Lots of complex electronic systems in 3rd gens to consider.

Where would the needed parts come from?

A 4cyl 4x2 is the perfect work truck if you start a side gig. Put that truck to work and then buy the truck you want with the profits.
