Yes I'm getting the urd shirt shifter kit soon. Was wondering if anyone has cut off any on the shift lever itself, to actually make the shifter lower as well, or if they make a special one for that? Because as far as i know the short shift kit from URD still keeps everything at stock height or even a little higher! Thanks

There isn't much to cut at the top of the lever as only the top of the shaft is threaded. You'd need a different shifter if you wanted to go lower at least on my 13' 5-speed.

Ya u figured. Know this was a weird question lol. I only wanted like 1-2 inches shorter. Only other thing I could think would be to cut it past the threads and get a knob that uses set screws to hold it on. Don't know if that would work or not!! Thanks anyways for opinion tho

Core Shifters has a Hurst kit where the shaft bolts on at the base. One could use any type of Hurst shaft on that setup. Or fabricate your own.
I don't have one, but I've been leaning towards the core/hurst SS, over the trd or urd.
Someone on here was offering a shortend shift level mod... I saw the thread somewhere.

I have made several. I offer these in 8 1/2" & 9 1/2" lengths. Stock is about 11 1/2", unless you have an X-Runner, they are a little shorter at 11"

    Starting from the left.

The first three (3) are stock shifters than have been cut down. These are compatiable with the URD SS.

The next two (2) are TRD SS that have been cut down. They have a short shifter built in (notice the longer tip) and do no require the URD SS. And you can not bolt on the URD SS to make it a shorter throw.

The last one is a blue base is a B&M shifter that has been cut down. It is not compatible with the URD SS.

I do not have a web site, but I sell here and on XRU.

Busted CV boots and lots of squeaks.
I will give Coupe credit for his work. I purchased my SS from him and I also have the URD kit. The difference is amazing. Clean crisp shifting and a much shorter throw. A lot of people say that getting into reverse is hard with the URD kit, but I have not had a single problem.
