Has anyone heard of someone removing the back glass on the 3rd Gen Tacoma and then removing the glass of a campershell to create a passthrough?

Then you'd want to seal the shell and the truck with some kind of bendable rubber, incorporating weather stripping.

I like to put my to go back behind by seat, so accessing clothing and other items up front would be easier.

Don’t do it. You’re overcomplicating your life.

1st gen sequoia makes an awesome camping rig FYI. Pull out the back seats and you’ve got a big enough flat area for a full twin mattress and room along the side and footwells open. If you need access to the rear from the front seat, you’ve got the wrong vehicle.

    SUVs have their perks.

Looked into this a bit at one point. There have been camper shells that have a rubber boot around the whole front window, to seal against the back of the cab, but they just end up rubbing all the paint off the cab where it contacts, since there’s more flex between the bed and cab than you’d think. I tried something related, putting foam weather stripping between the cab and shell, around the small slider windows in both, but the first time I went off road the above flex problem became apparent when the foam twisted away from where I’d stuck it, and I gave up on the idea.
