Well that's good news for me lol, I've got a set of Spidertrax axles I'm building that are 69" wms-wms so I was hoping you were close to that!

It sure looks lower than a 23-24" frame height, but the width probably has something to do with that also, more proportional looking.

So actually measured it today while I was outside fiddling with it. Frame height on the passenger side by the front body height was 25.5" while the driver was 24.5". Not exact and I think the springs will settle a little too.

While under articulation I have 3.5" of uptravel to bump while both sides up and down I have close 2.5" maybe more.

I think the width definitely makes it look lower and I trimmed the front fenders some to so I'm sure that doesn't help either. Still think it looks good though.

Those axles are sweet and should be cool when done. Was considering one for the rear bit we will see. Also considering just getting a Dana 60 to throw in the rear.

So went out and messed with it a little today. Got a rugged radio race radio for Christmas since cbs never seem to work very well and got that put in the ashtray. Got the fender trim on the front to clean up the edge and finally put some bolts in the fender holes. Also traded some old leaf springs had for a prolink. Not sure how I like it since i think it's going to drag on steep walls but I will see. May string it out of the way like I did the hook. 20171228_155656.jpg 20171228_155721.jpg 20171228_160854.jpg

and got it loaded up to go play tomorrow at logandale.

That's a clean fender cut, what did you use to cut it? I tried the cut into tabs and fold technique and it isn't pretty, guessing you just cut it off. Did you do anything to treat the edge?

I've always used an angle grinder with a cut off wheel then just went back over it with a 120 flap wheel. I got some automotive trim and put that over it to get rid of the sharp edge.

Had fun out at logandale yesterday. Didn't do a lot of trails but did a lot of hard obstacles. Truck worked really well. Had all of the steering I could get, tires didn't rub and the wider axle made it feel real stable and a little easier to wheel. No real problems besides the ram coming loose and just rotation down. Just need to tighten it up. Do need to look for a rear axle though. The vnotches are a little hard with the narrow rear since it doesn't track anywhere near the front. But it's doable.

And a buddy we went with in his 80s toyota on propane. He ended up killing a power steering pump later on. Him at the start of the V notch. Pictures do it no justice. Can almost walk under the car.

Trying to see where my steering rubs so threw it on the metal cloak trailer. Has more travel though when doing real obstacles but was nice to check things

Home from sand hollow. No damage or broken parts (haven't found any yet) and had fun so id say it was a good weekend. Saturday was super slick with some rain and snow. No real action pictures. But do have a ton of videos I'll post on my Instagram...

We ended up running John's trail, milts mile, the maze, plan b, and double Sammy. Snowed and rained on double Sammy and tried the chute at the end and got halfway before the rear slid in the v notch and wasn't worth flopping it so backed out of it.

Anybody ever raise the motor? Looking to do .25-.50 inch or whatever the hood and transmission allow. Have the trail gear bomb proof mounts and was considering taking them apart and remaking one of the mounting surfaces thicker.

Also need a new battery. The 5 or 6 year old red top I have is finally giving up and not really holding a charge unless I drive it everyday. Any recommendations? New red or yellow tops are expensive so leaning away from getting another one.

Also think I figured out what I'm going to do for a rear axle. Will be mostly a budget axle but I have to find one first.

I ponied up and put an Odyssey in my truck and it’s been good for the last few years. I’m not a battery nerd but I know it starts the truck after sitting for a few months at at time. It has handled me trying to kill it by leaving the CB on for a month too...just a jump and a drive around the block and it came back

Yeah this one actually surprised me by lasting so long especially with the heat as that normally kills them in 2 or 3 years. It was dead a few weeks ago, I put it on the charger and it was fine for a few weeks and now I haven't driven it since sunday and its already dead again so figure its time.

Leave it on a very low low amp trickle charge for about 2 days straight disconnected from the truck then put it back in and see if it will hold a charge. I have recovered 4 red tops and 3 yellow tops varying in age/ useage that way.

I have it hooked to a trickle charger since about 1 today and will leave it overnight but its still connected to the truck. I may give that as a last ditch effort.

Yeah and that half inch would make a big difference. I rounded it some more and it self clearanced the rest but that would get the drsg link off of it and get me just a little more uptravel before I get into the frame.

Another "width related" question... do you know the backspacing on your wheels? Just trying to get an idea of how wide I would be with my current wheels and 69" axles. Inner C's and knuckles arent permanently installed yet and I can still adjust overall width if needed, just trying to make a final decision! If you have any other pics of your truck sitting on level ground where you can see how wide it is (head on shot or looking up/down the side) I'd really appreciate seeing them!

Side note: I'm heading to St George in April for a week, truck will still be IFS for that trip, 4.88's, 33's, rear locker, bumpers/sliders/winch/full skids, any recommendations for trails, as of now we'll be by ourselves so not looking for anything crazy. Its not technically a wheeling trip, but I'll have the truck and be down there so want to go explore some of the trails for at least a day or two.
