Axles getting the ends welded on and started on the center console. I don’t have a clue what I’m doing but it’s a start.. I think it needs to be lowered a half inch to match the cubbie under the radio but I’ll mess with it more tomorrow.

Got more done last night. Lowered the shifter 3/4 of an inch but need to straighten it to match the dash. Made a mount and wedge for the cutting brakes and got that mocked up. Starting to look like something but it’s right...

Been slacking on updates. Timelines coming to an end but we are getting more and more done everyday. Copy and pasting these updates from another forum.

Got the axle back from having the ends and brakes welded on. Also got the center console tube work done. Just need to make skins and and finish wiring the shifter

Mounted a couple of the new wheels on the tires and finally got a full size spare. Sold the old wheels as well

    IMG_2457.jpg IMG_2456.jpg IMG_2466.jpg
And the little work truck going to get the old wheels dismounted.

Fired the money canon and ordered brake lines and axle shafts. Got the lines ran yesterday and shafts should be here next week hopefully. Center console is done besides one more support and brake lines tabs and panel tabs and the actual panels which are pretty far down the list of things to do. Got tired of messing with the limit strap tabs (shocks are a hair short at full articulation till i upgrade to a 2.5 shock) so just burned them on. If they bend ill make new ones.

and then put some lipstick on the old girl and got rid of the ugly button head screws in the fender for some body washers.

That should be pretty caught up to today. Hopefully work on it some more this afternoon and get the brake line tabs welded to the center console and the inside of the frame. Waiting on one fitting to hook up the brakes completely. Have to get the compressor wired up for the new lockers and axle shafts in and we may actually make my timeline of a shake down run in 2 weeks which will be one week before hump n bump in logandale the first weekend in november. Got steel it black to paint the axle and if I have time, i plan on painting the front to match.

Steel it is some of my favorite paint now. Both axles painted and rear axle under the truck. Ran a tap through all the u bolt plates just to be sure and it’ll be in tomorrow hopefully. Brake fittings and axle shafts should be here tomorrow. It’s getting close.

    @malburg114

With your current setup, what length shock are you running in the rear and what type leaf pack? You mention your shock are slightly short, what length do you actually need?

Currently a 2.0x12 in shock. Chevy 63s with a 6 in shackle. I eventually want to go to a 2.5x12 in bypass shock which will be about 2 inches longer extended and I won’t need the limit straps anymore. They only overextend on full articulation one side up and down but leaf springs are weird and flex more under power so just want to be sure.

Rear axle is in with shafts. Think it looks good. Just need bolts for the upper shock mount and to try and find the correct brake fittings.

This made me happy. Still needs brakes though.
Was surprised to see the rear axle clears a 5 gallon bucket besides the mounting faces and the front axle is super close. Lots or clearance.

thanks man. I was happy with how it came out. I was stressing over it hahaha.

I put a line lock inline to act as a brake. But like an idiot I put it to close to the seat and won’t full engage so I’ll have to move it.
Brake Line Lock Shut Off Valve 1/8 NPT Billet Aluminium Fuel Flow Control Cut Off Valve Black Anodized https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07C89NN1G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_XyjUDb2523CN6
I’m excited to drive it. I was pretty happ when it moved. Had to adjust the shifter linkage a little and need to rebleed the brakes but it’s pretty much done.
