For sure! I, like you, would have swapped in whatever axle I could get my hands on. I was just saying back in the early 2000s it was a run don't walk away from BJs, now it's a non issue. That mantra is still there it seems.

Redid the driver side a little to incooperate the upper link mount. Had to take one of my transfer case tabs off to redo it. Working on the upper mount for the axle now. Still waiting for my high steer arms and lower kingpin caps to reassemble everything. Maybe I’ll drop the cs off to be machined tomorrow

Original mock up. Had to knock that right tab off the transfer case mount. I’ll weld a new tab on top of the upper link mount to bolt it back together

Got the axle end upper mount done. Redid the steering box mount to give it more material around the bolt holes. Dropped the cs off to have the id opened up. Hubs showed up as well.

Only went in the garage for a few hours. Got the steering box sleeves tacked in place and mount in it’s rough mounting location. Radiator pulled. Traded some old parts for a mag drill I don’t really need but oh well.

finally mounted this grinder holder my dad made for me last Christmas or so. Welds came out decent on that.

Also added some extended feet to my bench grinder/belt sander to help stabilize it. I jacked up the setting so welds aren’t great but some were and it’s good practice on the longer runs.

Coil overs showed up. I attempted to make a coilover/bypass axle side mount but screwed up my measurements. Got some new lights from Wally word and got them up in the garage. Big difference.

waiting on the inner cs and high steer arms to make anymore progrsss really

By hand sadly. Some piece come out great. Others take a lot of time on the grinding belt.

    Stuff. Also things.
It’s looking really good, man. I’m excited to see that front axle back together with all the goodies on it.

Same. Goal is to have it done for winter4x4jamboree in mid January. I have everything besides the pieces to finish the front axle I think so hopefully it’ll go quick from there.

Radiator showed up. Should clear the steering box by 1/4 in or so.

Redid the bypass coilover mount. It’s a little tall but the pattern will work with some angles cut in it.
Looked at some other mounts and shock towers. Most did 5 in spacing between the two. I went with 6.5 just to be safe. If I have the room I may move them in half an inch but I’ll wait

Steering arms showed up two days early. Chased all the threads. Bent the link mount pieces to contour the frame.

need to pick up a 3/4 and 5/8 reamer and get some studs or bolts for the steering arms

    Thanks. Appreciate it.

Front was 68 and rear was 67 7/8. New front will be 69.25 and I think based off the shafts I’m using
