Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
@Jowett: If you saw how it was done you'd understand it was purely cosmetic - but it looked 'cool.'
I later put headers on an early version Chevy Luv 4x4 (Isuzu) - what a POS that vehicle was.

1st gen guy here, but I have 37s on a road going truck. Mine is setup primarily for rockcrawling, but I drive it evreywhere as I don't have a trailer for it. Here's my observations with 37s:

Fuel mileage: I can get 14mpg if I keep it at 65 in the highway, I also have it regeared. If you don't regear it your milage will suffer and it will be a really slow turd instead of the usual slow turd. I believe I was almost at 17mpg with the v6 and loaded over gross on my 13hr drive from IL to NC when I moved this year.

Braking: you will have to upgrade the brakes, I have rear discs and upgraded calipers up front and I can lock the tires up in a panic stop. So that problem is solveable.

Parts will wear out faster and it will seem like you are always tinkering with it.

I would personally not put 37s on for looks or even lift a truck for looks, but I would look at 33s or 35s and it will look better than stock. You can get some nice riding mts in 37s, I have pro comp mt2s and they do great in just about evrey, I don't know about snow because I don't drive my truck in the snow that's what my avalon is for.

Do you remember what kind of mpg you were getting before the regear? Or did you do gears before the 37s. I’d say If I could get 12+ stock gears on the highway I’d be okay with that

I was on 33s and 4.10s and was getting low to mid teens depending on how I drove it. If i went 55 on the highway I could almost kiss 20mpg, bump it to 65-70 and it dropped to 12-13. It's all about throttle position and weight. Example being I went to 5.29s and 37s which is "overgeared" but I don't have to keep it floored evreywhere and I can use 5th gear again. 33s and 4.10s I drove the truck like it was a 4spd.

37s and stock gearing would suck regardless of the gen truck, you need to regear it IMO.

    Dude...
I said accelerated wear... over a stock truck. There is no argument only your one data point.
Everything else I said was true too. Admit it.
I started modding trucks in 1978. I have run up to 44's on a Chevy short wide bed. My truck is stock now thanks to all the modding I did for 20+ years.

You would be surprised how uneducated some people are. There are many many posts here from people who lifted their trucks and can't understand why their mpg decreased.
You would also be surprised how many put on E Rated tires and complain about the ride.

I truly don't think you have a clue who is buying these trucks nowadays. They are coming from BMW or Subaru and this is their first truck. Many truly don't understand... physics or mechanics.

If you are gonna talk shit at least know a bit about who you talking with.
I put the facts out there. It's totally up to him.

You should definitely also have the Carolina ass drag mod. Just put the 37’s in the from and slam the rear end

Yep in my area I see quite a bit of those. The other day I saw 26s and 37s on a taco. I would say about 9 inches in the front and 0 in the back. Not my style but it’s not my money lol

    Oh hell yes.
The trucks that are made for Glacial exploration, are manly in every way.
    VERY expensive in design.

A few years ago there was one on eBay that went to the South Pole. I can’t remember the crazy price but it kept getting re-listed for like 2 years because it never sold.

Mine has 37’s, 2.5” or so of lift and 90% street driven. Well since covid probably more like 100% street driven.

Has been for 15-20k miles. No problems so far.
