I've been wanting that bumper, and that combo, but it burns me that they do not make it with their "stinger" already, said stinger is another $60, and many other models of trucks version does come with the light bar/stinger already built on, and for less money. Erks me haha.

Would this be considered "Mall Crawling?" This was when it was stock, I had only had it a couple of weeks.CIMG6278.jpg

I also got a flat on this trip so I am wheeling on my spare tire on this trip!

Thst would be considered total opposite:
Mall crawler = modified for expedition, never seen dirt.
Opposite = bone stock in a wild.

Opposite proves how capable Tacoma is without messing up with factory design and assembly quality.

Those pictures were taken about 20 years ago, I finally put a minimal lift on it, 2" earlier this year, but haven't taken it off road yet. Family life takes priority. Now the kids are getting older I am slowly doing mods to the Tacoma.

I'm avoiding going anywhere, I live in Los Angeles county where going to the store on a 'normal' day still looks like those scenes from movies when a natural disaster is coming and everyone is crowding the super market buying them out. On the LA point again, I'd bet a whole lotta money there are heaps of suped up crawlers in the parking lots. You can't take a drive anywhere without seeing at least one super done up 4 door jeep with tens of thousands put into bumpers, winches, paint matched aftermarket panels, gear, suspension etc and it looks SEMA show spotless. A little less frequently you see a new gen 4runner or taco decked out in nearly similar fashion.

I'm in with my "Nursery Crawler." Wife had to buy $300 of plants that will die in a month.

 Mine doesn't spend that much but she is always buying new plants for the front porch and within a few weeks they're dead...then buys more...then dead...then more...it's a redundant cycle. Every time she tells me that she's bad about remembering to water them but this time will be different, lol

Amen brother. I keep telling mine "look, Baby, these plants...they're much safer here at the nursery." She doesnt see the humor in that for some reason.

I'm usually driving and can't. Been seeing a lot of TRD Pro's lately. Oh, just this morning one of those super done up 4 door jeeps (over the top, the typical 2 shocks with resi's you usually see on HD trucks was up front) was WOT driving like a typical privileged/entitled LA'ite. I LOL when seeing people think they can throttle their way out of LA traffic. Not happening- see you at the next red light brother.

I didn't realize you were in LA...how do you get through smog checks every couple years with your setup? Namely the aftermarket injectors...do they not recognize them or? I was worried they'd spot my 7th when I got mine done last year but luckily they didn't...I have to do the STAR test next year though which I hear is more strict

Can't wait until my truck is 30 years old and I'm exempt from all that BS...just another 16 years lol

They have no way of knowing the injectors are different, they are modified OEM. The pulley is black gloss, the intake and exhaust is stock. It passes the sniffer and they see the carb sticker on the hood. IMO not really doing anything shady, but some of the rules are stupid. Even my catch can looks OEM, and the s/c bypass setup will look oem.

The 7th injector kit looks hella OEM, you should be fine.

If putting on that CX turbo kit, that would be a whole different story.

yeah I hear ya, the CARB rules here are plain ridiculous...they have next to nothing to do with emissions and everything to do with CA wanting to squeeze extra money out of aftermarket companies who then have to charge us more money to recoup the cost of acquiring a CARB certification. Case in point - my URD 7th injector makes my truck run 100x better which makes it better for the environment (doesn't run lean or burn out my cats), yet if the state knew I had it on they would fail me in a heartbeat because URD doesn't have the CARB certification for their products.

Sorry that was more of a rant in general lol...you have an awesome setup, I was curious because I know some aftermarket injectors look different than OEM and can be a red flag during the visual inspection.

I just melted a little bit haha.

Not nearly as awesome as the great many build threads on here, but I geek out on EMS stuff.

it's not the tech, it's CA ridiculous emissions inspections...I mean you can find techs that will "look the other way" but that's another topic entirely lol.
